Accoring to >>THIS<<, Yuzuru should be invited to the new "Team Challenge Cup" competition, to be held in Spokane WA, USA on April 22-24 2016.

Will he accept?!

Can someone refresh my memory, is there WTT this year? I somehow think his participation in these events after Worlds depends on hoe he does at Worlds. Of course, entry lists might have to be finalized before then...

Can't wait for the official practice reports!
 Perfect way to spend Christmas. -But I feel sorry for the hard working skaters.

Yeah, I always thought of how Brian hasn't spent the holidays with families/loved ones for awhile now! Or maybe they take a holiday in Japan that's possible too. :)

You mean sorry for the Japanese skaters because nationals is over Christmas?

I don't think they're missing much - Christmas is not that big of a thing in Japan, no holiday or anything.

Same for Russian nationals by the way - Christmas Day in Russia (Russian Orthodox church) is January 7th... so Russian skaters aren't missing out either!

Can he tun down the invitation? If he does have the choice to turn down the invitation, I hope he turns down the invitation. But I don't think he has a choice.

Well he can't. Remember top skaters from other countries all participated at WTT. This event is the same. They need top skaters in the rankings to attract audiences.

I don't think he is forced to participate. If he declines, isu picks the next highest rank skater after him that wasn't invited already. But I guess if you want to go into the politics of things....

Edit: Also the invitations aren't sent until Jan 1 so I don't think the list on tumblr is official just yet. The announcement doesn't say if a skater is limited from any activity if they decline the invitation, so it doesn't look like there are any consequences for declining the event.

Aw, Brian is a hoot to watch during his skaters. I love it when he kicks his leg up and leans forward... then you know a hard combo/jump is coming up,lol. He was doing more jumping at NHk, though :)

There is really nothing to gain for him to participate in the Team Challenge Cup. (IMO, it's a waste of time for him to go to the Team Challenge Cup.) He might as well use the time to prepare for next season's programs.

Well, Scott hated WTT, he even said it out loud and he's still there. I think it's something like a duty for all top skaters to do team event because this kind of events will bring more publicity to the sport. And since they need to attract audiences and casual viewers, top skaters should go and I think they're recommended by their feds to go.

Yuzu will get the invitation on Jan 1st, he will have until Feb 10th to decide if he wants to participate in TCC. He is not forced to participate.
What he can get from this competition? The ISU and US figure skating association will certainly appreciate if he choose to participate, and the Worlds is in US this year.
The prize money is around 30K for Yuzu if top skaters from Asia all choose to participate. Even if Asia finishes last, he can get 17K. Not sure how much that's compare to EX show, but it's a decent amount and probably the best the US skating association can provide.
He will have one more opportunity to interact with the North American fans, and a lot more time to spend with other skaters and ISU officials.

From the invitation list, Brian has at least 5 students invited based on World Standings (Yuzu, Javier, Nam,Elizabet, Gabby). It's certainly a statement to Team Brain's coaching success.

I understand many fans just want Yuzu to stay healthy and be focused. He has a very busy schedule already. But we should really cut out the "Yuzu's too good for this competition, it's a waste of his time, I hope he will turn it down" business. It gives people the wrong impression that Yuzu's arrogant and snobby, and we all know that's certainly not the case.

I agree, it's unfortunate the North America broadcast rarely shows the SP programs. So it is a nice surprise that NBC showed his SP at both the NHK and GPF performances!

That's because the GPF files are still being uploaded, my uploading speed is not very fast so it's taking it's own sweet time with the files. I do expect them to finish in the next few hours though.

Dasani, is the link to the videos still working? I seem to get redirected to the main Mediafire site when I try the link. Thanks so much for sharing! I much prefer to have my favorite skating videos saved instead of relying on finding them streaming.

PS. My first post on this forum! Hi!

Hi anirien! Welcome to the forum!!

The mediafire links should still work, I think the reason you might be redirected to the main page is because you have to register an account in order to access the files in the folder? Since all the files are now uploaded I'm reposting below the individual video links of each file, please see if this might work better for you. :)

Olympic SP: CBC (720p), BBC (720p), NBC (720p60 ts file - Johnny & Tara), NBC (1080p ts file - Scott & Sandra)
Olympic Team SP: CBC (720p60 ts), NBC (720p60 ts)

all files from 2015 are 1080p ts format:
2015 NHK SP: NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary
2015 NHK FS: CBC, NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary

2015 GPF SP: NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary
2015 GPF FS: CBC, CBC No Commentary, NBC, Eurosport Russian & British Commentary

Note to all: I'll be keeping the files in mediafire for quite some time, please feel free to PM me if any of the above link no longer works (in case mediafire deletes them), I'll just update the new uploaded link on this post again.

Yes, and those of us in the US never to get to see Yuzu live, so actually this competition is a big deal. I'm able to go to Worlds in Boston and see him for the first time, but would love a second chance in Spokane as it's a 45 min. flight from where I live. Getting more time off work will be a bigger challenge, however.

Thank you so so much for these! I love to have really HQ versions of Yuzu's skates!
