A poster said, "Yuzuru fell from Heaven and landed on the Ice"! :hap93: I just feel so privileged to have seen him skate at Boston Worlds! It truly was a dream come true. He is absolutely stunning! Everyone around me was out of their seats before he finished his last spin.:love:

"Their refashionship seems closer. As a parent watching over this adorable child (yuzu), oser and Pooh may share some thoughts."

Some fans say that yell was probably from Yuzu himself. He shouted くぞ.

Live tonight I was unsure, but when I watched it now non Eurosport it was clearer to hear, for me it is Hanyu himself shouting. The tension and relief broke way, you can see it in his step sequence.

From staying up tonight and sleeping 4 hrs I still have a strange feeling in my head, its like spinning an unending pirouette. It was worth every second. Vulcano Hanyu, lots of power.
Some people may be afraid he would burn out till Olympics: A friend of me (figure skating teacher) said today that he wouldn't keep this extremely crazy level of skating far above the other skaters, but I dont think so, there is an abundance of energy in him.

It is most definitely Hanyu shouting out right before the step sequence, you can clearly hear him, but more importantly, see him doing it. Thank you Eurosport HD. Not a clue what he shouts, though. It does indeed sound like a warcry to me, but it's probably a Japanese word?

You described my feelings to a tee. :) The same light-headedness all through the day after barely sleeping four hours, and lots of (hopefully) surreptitious fist-pumping. :)

Yuzuru is just otherworldly. I usually don't post in his fan thread, it moves too fast for me (the last time must have been around 2200 pages ago or so...) but now I have to. You're awesome Yuzuru. Awesome. I'm just so in awe. *sigh* (I don't even like his SP) So looking forward to Seimei. I have no doubts it'll be all sorts of epic.

Ok now that you all said it, I went back to HD and it is him shouting. Yes, 行くぞ, ikuzo, as in let's go. Makes perfect sense in retrospect. Well, he was fired up, wasn't he? Brilliant

Last night was the first time that I saw Yuzu skating live, and it was incredible....beyond words. I feel so blessed that I have been able to see a legend, a champion, a fighter, great sportsman and beautiful person skate. It was so worth it to make it to Worlds to see him and I can't wait until tomorrow. Thank you to everyone on this post for providing such great links and translations. If it weren't for this post, I wouldn't have had the desire to step out and go to Worlds to see Yuzu skate. I so appreciate all the effort and time put into keeping this thread up to date with the latest on Yuzu!

Transcription of the Dutch Eurosport commentary of Hanyu's SP. M = man, W = woman

M: Yuzuru Hanyu, the Olympic champion, the man with the brilliant score this season, 330.43, that was 50 (? Hard to understand) points more than the score that made him Olympic champion. Admittedly, it wasn’t perfect what he showed in Sochi, but now he wants his world title back. It really annoyed him. Last year it didn’t work out, the only comfort was that the title came in the hands of his friend and training mate Javi Fernandez. If we get a Grand Prix kur (SP), then all we need to do is sit back and enjoy the next three minutes, because mistakes will be very difficult to see.
W: beautiful passes, quadruple salchow. And again passes before the quadruple toeloop and triple toeloop.
This makes me speechless, not normal, what a kur, again, and during the season he kept getting better, every competition he smashed his world record until that high point mid-December during the Grand Prix Final. Okay, he’s had some rest in (?) the second half of the season, (hard to understand, maybe “since” the start of the second half of the season), and how, “jonge jonge” (means something like wow wow), and honestly nobody can beat him this season, and that likely won’t happen here in Boston, either. Look at that, 62 and a half point already for the technique (at that very moment the counter goes down to 61.48, lol), almost ten points ahead, I don’t know what I should say about this, yes, what can one still say about this, and even Brian Orser can’t believe it, he doesn’t know what to say, either (this is said jokingly), we’re going to listen to what Brian manages to say. (Brian turns away, Yuzu turns back to the arena) (continued) Yeah, that’s not much, either (what Brian says). Unbelievably good and beautiful, that man can skate, that man can jump, everything is connected with gorgeous passes (this commentator always says this!). Here the quadruple salchow. And imagine you are sitting there, at the boarding, bonkers (this doesn’t translate well, “waanzinning” means something like crazy, unimaginable in the most positive sense of the word. She means how awesome it would be to sit there in the audience, with the quad salchow happening right in front of you). And look at that, how steadily landed, and immediately into a moons (still not sure about this word, what was it called again in English? Spread-eagle?), transitions, and all perfectly executed to the music. And also passes before that combination, which isn’t even necessary, before that gorgeous quadruple toeloop, which he barely hangs onto, and then, as if he is standing perfectly fine, a triple toeloop right behind it. It looks as if every insecurity is gone, the insecurity from the previous season, and here that magnificent triple axel, jumped as if from out of nowhere, like Fernandez, in the middle of the choreography, but yes, fair’s fair, even better executed by Hanyu. For that you cannot give anything less than a +3. Well, those were the jumps, and then we haven’t even talked about the skating skills, his manner of movement, his presentation, and of course he’s allowed to release the “pressure” (literally “load”, she refers to the multiple roars he emits after the program).
Will it be another world record? It’ll be close.
M: yes, with the tech score that we had on the screen, he’d be a bit in the plus, but we don’t know if that’s changed in the meantime. (sees the score) So yes, it was changed, and so it’s 0.39 points too little, with 110.56, and twelve points free from his closest rival, and that’s his training mate Javi Fernandez, and (I rightfully say? Hard to understand) before there was more tension (nervous excitement to know who is going to win) because Hanyu could also make a mistake, but this season, especially the latter half of the season… , <that’s not the case> (uhm, seems like the guy didn’t finish his sentence, or I misheard the start).
You cannot give him yet (eh… the gold medal?),4.30 minutes is something different than the 2.50 minutes in which he pretty much perfectly balanced and danced across the ice, but he has the <no clue>, and yes, then you’re called Maxim Kovtun and what are you going to do after such a mental (waanzinnig) performance?

I'm now less tense, and waiting for the free program :dance2:

As I was in the office working today, I could not check the internet openly. I was sneaking to check this thread sometimes as your reports were the fastest

Thank you guys :thank:

She made even Pooh wearing that shirt! (Actually, I thought the zipper broke and my heart froze!)

Help needed! Is this tweet about the shout during Yuzuru's SP? https://twitter.com/ack_yuz/status/715554553026859010 Could someone translate it please?
It's difficult to translate the nuance. But basically like this.
“OK! (Great performance) has come! Did you all watch me? Ahahahaha(laugh), that shout was from that thought. “:)

How sweet of you! Thank you for sharing your precious experience! Just enjoy! The moment of Boston is only once. He lives every single moment fully.

It’s rough translation:p.
“Honestly, I’m happy very much. I was happy in NHK and GPF also, but in this World championships, I could bring this SP. It was not perfect though, I could keep skating till the end feeling good.”

You think you were not perfect? We watching you think it was perfect. What part do you see was not perfect?
“the quality of 4t, speed, and still lack of level. There are more to feel a shame. But I could do well with this SP and it is the great advance.”

“thare were some troubles, hardship, etc not only until I came here but after then. But I could accept such things were there and understand it in my mind. And I was able to try to control myself. That was good.”

About FS day after tomorrow
“I’m not at all thinking about breaking WR. This competition has so much tension, and tomorrow I will have enough rest and I just want to keep good control both in mental and physical towards FS.”

He said first, “I did well with landings of jumps.” And then Orser said, "steps were better i thought":)
