As you have all known the result... I cried badly (merely save it in my room). This time my heart really broke into pieces for him due to lots of matters and emotions. I dare not read any news and commentaries about him and the competition now. I shall give some time for myself to calm down and show up again happily later.

Though I haven't read them but I believe many of you have given precious information and reports here. Thank you so much for these. Love you all!

only Hanyu knows what went wrong
in Monday he looked mighty and was not missing anything, but next day after day it was just going down and down
maybe that situation with Denis throwed him off, we don't know, and we will not know

IMO, he wanted to win too much. That thought overwhelmed him under pressure. His reaction to Denis Ten actually showed he cared about winning too much. It's Denis' fault for interrupting Yuzu's practices. But usually people don't react the way Yuzu did. Most people don't get so angry and lost temper so badly (his reaction is not good and not right) for another person getting their way. He practiced a lot yesterday before the competition. I think it's also because he wanted to win too badly and that made him too nervous, even though he was smiling. I don't think he was aware of that thought back in his mind.

It's the same as the Olympics. After he was leading after the SP at the Olympics, the expectation became much bigger. He subconsciously wanted to win (with stronger desire). Then he practiced a lot because he was nervous. It's only after he skated a sub-par LP and thought that his gold was gone, did he realize it's his desire to win the gold too much that made him so nervous.

let's all agree to disagree..

I admire how classy and generous person , larger than life Yuzuru seems to be..
but i don't find the idea of having the same coach with your biggest opponent very good.
Yagudin didn't think it's fair either and he left his own country to find Tarasova,
cause its natural to want the full attention for yourself. it's too demanding perhaps, but very natural and common need.

In the end,Yuzuru will decide for himself what he needs..
we are all here to support him no matter the coach <3
It's not right to compare Yuzu and Javi with Yagudin and Plushenko. Because unlike Yuzu and Javi, the two Russian men could not get along. Plus, those two had their own personalities; while Yuzu and Javi have their own. Both Yuzu and Javi have no problem with each other, they're a good pair for pushing each other to do better. So basically, the situation is completely different.
Plus, Brian is not Mishin, lol!

Agree on Yuzuru deciding what he needs, but I'm 100% sure it has nothing to do with his coaching team. The problem is himself. I'm sure he knows that, but he has to realize what it IS exactly, and that's what can take some times.

I do not and will not worry.
1: He's going to the gala and I'm sure he'll have fun there.
2: He'll go back to Japan for some time to relax and be with his family. Considering how the JSF protects him, they'll make sure he's not being bothered.
3: Going back to Canada to start preparation, mentally and physically, for new season
4: Shows in Japan with his friends and idols (Plushenko won't be there, but Johnny will)

Here's to a slow and sure start for a new beginning. Hear hear! :agree:

I want Yuzu to stay training at TCC. And always thought he had made the right choice going to TCC and train with Javi.
But after his FP and after reading Orser's comment where he admitted he maybe not able to pay full attention and energy into taking care of Yuzu this time(probably because of Javi injury), I worry a bit. I still want Yuzu to stay at TCC, but when it comes to big competion and when multiple of skaters are competing from TCC, I want some other coaches from TCC who usually works with Yuzu to stay with him the whole time and keeping eye on his traing ane resting plan. I don't see any reason why it cannot be done. Kobayashi san of JSF cannot do anyting for him really. Kikuchi san is not enough either.

I just saw Yuzuru's routine on Eurosport- well, i couldn't watch, just the end. The commentators are always so supportive, they said he looks exhausted :(

He knew Javier has been there with Brian since he joined the team. They share the coach and time is allocated between them depends on situation. Orser came to Boston with Hanyu instead of Javier. Is that an issue? No, I don't think so. Anyway, most likely he still needs to share a coach with the others even if he's not with Orser, unless that's an extremely small team or one-to-one partnership that only has Hanyu as the main competing male single skater. Apart from what you have said, Hanyu's resume shows he works with the team very well. Is it a good idea to leave a successful team because of losing one competition? How do we evaluate the huge success of the whole team contributed to the world recordSSSSS?

About the relationship between the 3 people, I wonder how can fan determine anything base on merely a competition through limited air time from media. I don't know how many minutes exactly they are spending with each others every year, but I am sure it should be much more than a fan with them. I don't know Yuzuru in person and don't even mention Orser and Fernandez. I can only tell that at least they smile, they laugh, they cheer and they help for each other. That's all. Are these signs of a worrying relationship? It seems not.

And I do also believe things are way simpler than outsiders' imaginations. If people don't stir things up, nothing happens really. If it's not broke, why fix it? And suggesting to 'fix it' by an outsider? I don't see the ground here.

As you have said, he decides for himself. Yuzuru's not Yagudin and Javier's not Plushenko.

I agree to disagree on this issue certainly.

I'm a bit late but I was totally wrecked by what happened last night. This year belonged to Yuzu. I still cannot understand how he fell apart like he did.
Anyway I was happy the one to beat him was Javier, who totally deserved the win.
But Yuzuru you're forever the first in my heart. And I'll cheer loudly for you no matter what. Now have a rest, and come back for new amazing moments next season. I'll wait for you in Marseille.

Now I understands his reactions when he finished his SP(That barking and his facial expression ). But looking at the first picture makes me think also, that everyone is doing this to others. The skater behind D10 is very close and jumping toward D. In anycase he should have let it go, because it just gets into your nerves and wastes your energy. I am sure he has learned a lesson this time. There is always someone annoys you, but you just have to let it go and mind your own business.
You cannot control others, but you can controll yourself.

I kinda agree. More coaches for more skaters.

Javier actually has added his Spanish coach to his team (I am not sure who he is) so he has been taken care better. It seems like it works. Shall Yuzu consider to add someone to his team also?

All in all, I think it's communications between 2 parties, Yuzu and TCC. They can figure out some improvement to the thing altogether.

Imo, I just don't agree 'everything is wrong' suddenly just because he failed in this competition. He didn't do well this time, reasons unknown (to me). We can always improve things, including the team structure and the mechanism of the coaches they are working. In the meantime, I won't forget Yuzu also achieved his enormous success in NHK and GPF with the current team. That means they really have done some good jobs and shouldn't be neglected for one down competition.

I am sad and heartbroken for the result, things can be better, but they deserve some time to review the big picture first. I think they are both professional, they will try to work out something. If they can't work it out, Yuzu can start something new of coz.

Legends don't always win Worlds everytime. After all, Yuna won her titles in 2009 and... 2013!
This, +1. He's already medaled four times at Worlds. That's pretty special by itself.
I know some bars in that town where I could drown my sorrows
I'm starting to have second thoughts about sharing a room with you there. :slink:
Please Yuzuru, I need my roomie happy... I don't like drinking.

nobody should ever encourage him to take his bling bling away
Hear hear! :luv17: The bling is one of the things that made me fall in love with him as a skater. I like people who dare express themselves in colorful and blingy ways. Don't ever stop the bling, Yuzuru.

I wish I could see it on Eurosport, but nothing so far, even though it should've already at the start of the afternoon (it's now early evening). I'm hoping against hope maybe there'll be something there tonight during the Pairs FS recap. I just want to know what the Dutch commentators say.
Oh, if I do manage to catch it, should I even bother translating it? I mean, it probably won't be very upbeat...

Hello from Boston
It was a sad night for all of us. At the 6 minutes warm-up, Yuzuru looked fine, concentrated and did many jumps, quads. Then at the biginning of his program, after the first quad saw I think, which did'nt go well, he started to look tense. He still did all of his jumps, but not with the same easiness, lightness that we always see. But it was still a good performance. Then Javi skated the performance of his life and win the good medal instead of Yuzuru. Javi seems to make his successes when Yuzuru makes some mistakes.
Now it is over. Even it is not the result we all hope for, I like to say Congratuations to the medalists.
I pray for good health and good luck for Yuzuru at all the competitions next year.

If I am sad for Yuzuru last night, I try to think about what happened to Patrick and look Javi did miss an Olympic bronze medal in Sochi because of mistakes too.

I hope for better result next time.

This year belonged to Yuzu.

This:agree:
No matter what happened yesterday, everyone will remember this as his season and the worlds FS as the exception.

NHK and GPF were two magical moments in the history of figure skating.
