I don't think JSF will make any announcement on this because it is already off season. But we would know in one way or another (probably from ANA) because his appearance in the FAOI(starting end of May) should be announced around that time if he has no major health problem.
I don't think you need to worry too much, because even if the option is surgery which seems to be the worst scenario in terms of off ice time, the sports orthopedic doctor said he can be back in his peak performance physical level in 6 months. Not just recover but fully ready to compete. I might be even better that way because he is criticized for peaking too early. Maybe barely making into GSF and winning there again is the more ideal:laugh:
He has enough time and it is good that he is forced to rest now :biggrin: maybe that is the God's gift.

I will readily admit that I am not a Yuzu fan. I think he's overscored in PCS but also think his athleticism is other-worldly. What this competition showed me is that he, like other mere mortals, is beatable on any day. BUT - having said all that, I LOVED LOVED LOVED his exhibition. He finally showed his personality, seemed to be having great fun out there, and I saw a different side of the mechanical robotic skater with the killer jumps. Then when the gala finale was going on, he was dancing around, being playful with the other skaters, and I got a totally different sense of him. And the other point that I would like to make is he is a gentleman and a good sport. His behavior with Javi after the results came out was genuine and heartfelt and that was so good to see.

From what I understand (as someone who is not a health professional) to properly diagnose ligament problems, an MRI is required. For a private patient in Toronto, that could probably be done within a week. A place like St. Mike's Hospital gives a timeline of a couple of days. If we give a week for the MRI to be reviewed (ample time), the extent of the damage should be known within perhaps two weeks. After this, Yuzuru's primary doctor should decide whether he needs just rehab/a cast or surgery. That means the JSF should know before the end of April what treatment Yuzuru requires. And hopefully they'll let us know something so his fans can be at ease.

IF (emphasizing the "IF") it is the Lisfranc joint that's injured, it gives off a characteristic sign: bruising at the bottom of the foot. So the treatment (like a prefabricated boot) could start even before getting an MRI (X-rays are performed first and may give the diagnosis w/o the need of an MRI).
But don't worry too much before we get the official information, we don't even know which part is he hurting. When this joint is injured by sport-related causes, collateral damage is rare. And if the injury was really THAT serious, he would have been in significant pain, and he seemed fine all week at Worlds :agree:
But again, I say let's wait for confirmation from his team.

So give the bod guard the PR role nobody of his "big family" wants to have. Next competition let the bodyguard push a mad Yuzu into a locker room to take a refreshing shower while he himself can talk to the press.It's not that difficult , I suppose.:dev3:
