wow, it's gonna be a fierce battle to get one of those books

Just the same as the usual ticket battles about competitions in JP!

Sorry to reply late. This is the first week back at universities here in Japan and I have been swamped!

I did see Requiem at worlds (and at NHK), and as always, I think it is a hauntingly beautiful program. For me, it was not as emotional as the earlier performances, but it still and touching and sweet in its projection of sadness and reflection. It will always be one of my favorites. I think I have footage of some of it and I will upload it once I get a chance to review it.

Thank you for your reply in such a busy schedule. Now, it’s the beginning of the year. Further, I hope you’ve already settled the jet lag!

You are the person who watched Requiem from summer, NHK, Worlds at live. So, I would love to have your views about this program. Thanks!
Further, I’m looking forward to seeing the footage. Thanks in advance. (Of course, your job is the first priory. No need to rush!)

Ahhh., Perfect! I can’t help giggling! Their faces, their characters.. Oh, No!:dance2:

PJ - thanks so much for your videos. I think you are one of the fortunate few to see REQUIUM iive at several performances. Wonderful to meet you in Boston!

you are the first person I've seen that prefers another requiem performance more than the one in Worlds

I also think for us not watching it in the venue, the camera works was bad for the Requiems in Japan where they zoomed in too much or lost him in the frames. I'm so glad for the Requiem at Worlds...I've been watching it over and over, the song is stuck in my head

yeah that's true :) for me I've always liked the EX but at Worlds it's the most especial.

Completely agree that at Worlds it felt special, I liked Requiem on video but loved it when I saw it live (and the costume is stunning in person).

It definitely felt that it was different than what I saw in the other shows through video, it gave me shades of his NHK Trophy 2014 performance of Hana wa Saku where he skated after a disappointing performance as well. It was emotional, but the type of emotion was different from the Requiem he performed in the summer.

Zunda mochi sounds easy to make and absolutely delicious. I'll be heading to the SF Cherry Blossom Festival this weekend and I'm hoping to buy myself some fresh mochi, the pictures definitely made me crave mochi.

Really, Camera works is very important for skater’s performance.
I hope they should stop to zoom in that much in usual (frame-out is out of question..haha.)

My best 3 camera works for his EX performance. (in no particular order)

White Legend (Sochi)
RJ#1 (Worlds 2014)
Requiem (Worlds 2016)

I prefer his Seimei performance at the GPF since that was better than the one at the NHK imo, but the camera works is much better at NHK so I tend to watch the nhk one if I want to..:coffee:

the Requiems in Japan have more abandon and sharp movements, but this one in Boston is also beautiful because of the restraint he puts on his performance. It's all smooth and calm, like the calm after the storm, but with the passion just under the surface.

Your fault then ;)

We only took a short trip to Sendai at the end of our holiday. Just 1,5 days before we went back to Tokyo and then back home.

We went to Rinnō-ji, which has a really pretty little garden. The weather was kind of meh, and many of the plants looked like they were already past their prime for this season, but it was still a lovely place. We also went to Matsushima that day, and I would really recommend doing that when the weather is nice  it was quite rainy and cold when we went there, and once the sun started to set, it got a bit uncomfortable. It's at the seaside, so this was kind of to be expected. Still, not a waste at all, we spent some time strolling over the islands, and that was actually fun.

From Aoba Castle you have a great view over the city. On that day the weather was a little nicer to us. Many clouds, but the blue of the sky was unreal. I spent most of my time there just checking out the view. Zuihōden Mausoleum was awesome, too. The monuments look great and the surrounding area is drop-dead gorgeous. You have to walk up like a gazillion stairs (then again, when don't you in Japan?), but the grounds are so pretty, and you are way too busy looking around to notice that you have to climb Everest. We also went to Ōsaki Hachimangū, where we went up another billion steps............

I am happy to know you enjoyed Sendai.
Why didn't you contact me?:roll5: I am living just 3 min walk from Ōsaki Hachimangū, and if you had asked me, I've never recommend to visit the Botanical Garden, which is not only boring, but also kind of dangerous, because of few black bears which have been witnessed around the area last few years!! (Now they are gone, so, others, please visit Sendai):peace:

I've been living in Sendai for 3.5 years so far, as many of the posters say it's not as exciting place to visit as central & western part of Japan, but it is very comfortable city to live.
I can go to city-center by bicycle less than 20 min, and holy, green-riched Oosaki-Hachimangu by 3 min walk!
