And it is sold out... I think... meaning lots of cheers and good atmosphere for the skaters (hopefully).

Are they allowed to practice on that ice before the official practices start? It looked like Alaine Chartrand was there a few days ago.

According to Mura's practice video offered by himself, the rink for practice so far is not the same as the he one for the competition. But now the official rink is completed and the skaters may have moved to there.

I remembered this. He was trying to jump 4A here? I am also concerned about the likelihood of injury, but will be an unforgettable thrill to see him perform this jump in the future.

OTHER

For those of you going to Skate Canada, I made some small gifts to give to fellow Yuzu fans at the competition. Please come say hello, I'll be at practice on Thursday and there for the remainder of the competition and gala.

If you want to read more about the gift itself and how I made it, I wrote a blog post about it here.

Kind of interesting today... on the cbc skate america broadcast they were talking about the evolution of the quad jumps and both Carol lane and Kurt Browning said they believed that of the jumpers right now, Yuzu would be the one most able to do the 4 axel. Kurt said because of height and rotation needed, it would be Yuzu. Nice vote of confidence there for him.

No video... from my memory they were just chatting on camera, showed the clips of the people who landed each quad first (starting with kurt, who said he had the freedom to try it because Brian B. And Brian O were fighting it out at the top) , and then after Yuzu's 4L clip, they said they thought he did that as a response to Shoma's flip in April... like a "don't forget about me" kind of thing. Then the host said that left just the 4A and she asked who they thought would be able/most likely to do it and Kurt said they had talked about it and it would have to be Hanyu because of height, rotation.

We all know the risks etc, everyone has discussed those, but aside from that, I would love to see him do it too. I really think he could, if that was his pure focus one year.

Hi dear Yuzu fans
As this thread is an endless source of information about Yuzuru, I thought you could help me. I'm actively looking for an old interview made after FP at the 2013 Eric Bompard Trophy by the Japanese TV. [...]
I just found this so far.

Does anyone read the recent magazine, icejewels?
http://www.kazi.co.jp/icejewels/
ive read the review of this. this seems to have his latest interview so much. he says he can already do SP without mistake at his practices. some fans predict with SP only he may do it perfectly.
Yes, I've read it.
I'm a bit surprised that you haven't read it yet It's must read, haha
I hope someone good at English will introduce the interview here
because it's very interesting though it was painful to read at the same time.
He said after Boston World he had the same dream for two weeks, in which he lost,
went to the banquet, and then came back to the hotel and cried.

When he began to practice jump after the treatment, he couldn't jump.
He was afraid this slump would continue for a year. He was really depressed.
Tracy Wilson helped him a lot, always thinking of his feeling.
He talked about Jeff and Shae-Lynn, but didn't say anything of Brian.

He skated Requiem in Boston thinking this might be his last skate in his life
(Very bad summary and English, sorry! He also talked about his new programs.)

Hi vadrouille! I hope that you and the other forum members attending Skate Canada International really enjoy yourselves and witness two amazing competitive programs from Yuzu!

Have fun everyone attending Skate Canada! :yahoo: Please send Yuzu lots of positive vibes from us who can only watch him through a screen :sad4:

Went on YouTube to see what all the fuss was about. Many of his videos such as 2016 worlds and Sochi have so many Yuri on Ice comments! They seem to think Hanyu's a real life anime character come to life.

Did anyone create countdowns for Yuzu practices and competitions yet? Please share, those are very useful. I'm very bad at time converting so I would appreciate some experienced fans doing it. :cheer:

Agree! ive already waited for someone posting the cowntdown.

At the same time, i really enjoy this time, the mixed feeling of nervousness and expectation. I love yuzu in shows, CM, talks, etc., but he shines most when he is competing. He is a born-to-be fighter. Whatever result may come, i know he will leave us huge movements.

I begin to check Japanese news clip since they must start to air about skate canada. So far i havent caught yet.

His both SP and LP will be a deep night time for me so I am trying to prepare myself for being a sleepy owl for a couple of days thanks to that. But I can't watch him afterwards in a recorded version. I need that adrenalin of a live competition so I'm gonna stay up for Men's field. Can't wait!:yay:

Go see Doctor Strange or watch Yuzu's practice... decisions decisions. In the end, Doctor Strange has won. But there had better be a nice archived stream to watch later!

I'm gonna be working for the SP :c oh well, it will be close to my check out haha so i don't think it's going to be a huge problem, i've been saving my data for today. The practices though... I'm not gonna get much work done today :D i want to see my icy noodley kitty Yuzu♥

YuzusHydroblade,
Your dream seems to be as awful as Yuzu's one!

He talked a lot about his struggle on his way to recovery, how he found his jumps back, very painful to read. It took the whole process. He said his injury bothered him until May and he felt depressed. When he resumed training he found he can't find his jumps back soon, it took much slower than expected. During his off ice time his muscles had transformed to fat, He could feel it and it made him afraid and worried because he was back to training and making choreo so late he even thought he might skip this season. Also he found his skating skill regressed after off ice long time.
And the failure at WC he said the regret was different from 2015, because he thought he had enough training although he was troubled by injury but still could do clean run through in daily training. He felt like why I made such mistakes even though I had enough training. After world he was in regrets and depression, when he came back from banquet to hotel he cried in bed almost every night. he thought his Boston ex could have been his last ever skate.
He resumed practice from one rotation jump, At the beginning he could only jump 1lo , jump 3 in a day
He could not control his body, In his head he knew what to jump and his body just not listen to his command, So he felt big pressure at that time ,the mental pressure might affect his body so he started to feel pain in somewhere that he never felt pain before. Due to those ups and downs and struggles in that two months ( May to June )He kept thinking about it a lot, had much confusion, After what happened in the off ice time learned how to think from a more theoretical method, He said he learn how to use what he has learned until now, he learned from a professor of Weseda to acknowledge the impact of mental to physical. and he studies much to find out the solutions useful to himself.
After SCAC He was asked about his jump condition ,He said sometimes he could have good landings but sometimes if the taking off is not right he would have bad landing Sometimes if he isn't in a fine mood he found his jumps failed all the time So after all the conditions needs to catch up not only physical but also mental pace, also said when he trains sometimes his facial expression will become devil and devil But actually that's was not because he was pushing his physical limit but mental, at those times Tracy helped him a lot, came to him and talk to him, generally he is very grateful to coaching team. He said he learned he cant dig things on his own he needs to listen to others He had good lesson from what happened in the last season. Basically it is a struggle but he did learn from the hard time ,After all his key to win second OG is his health.

He also said something interesting:
" the off ice time isn't a waste at all" this can only apply to who finally succeed So if thinking of my failure in WC, the three months before WC is totally a waste But I hope if it can succeed in Olympic 2018 then I can go back and say that three months was't wasted at all, He said he spent a lot of time with Jeff about the stsq He requested to Jeff make a clearly level 4 stsq And he and Jeff worked a lot on that parts.

he wants to break record again But he work hard not to break record but if he skate better programs and the new record sure will come with it.

He said H & L It is the sequel to Requiem of heaven and earth it is linked to the Requiem But this is a more happy and peaceful number, He smiles when skate it from bottom of his heart ,He said some parts are this idea including the ending pose.
This is a very very rough sum up of Ice jewel 4 article.
