Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

There is no table (at least I don't have it) but the last time I heard someone doing a lot of one-foot skating (including one-foot skating from one side of the rink to another, the long side of course) was Stephane Lambiel. Due to this fact (and also because he trained his spins mostly on one foot) he had some problems with his back later in his career as one side of his body was more developed than the other one. Well, I hope Yuzu exercises his both feet equally cause he's fascinated with his 3D muscles model and staff, you know. No back problems for Yuzu, please.

Also about ideal skating. There was an interview from last season with Alexander Zhulin about Dance field and there was a line when he said that he thought it was impossible to create and skate the LP that was superior (in sence of being ideal) to what Yuzu had done (he meant to record breaking performances). And so that you understand- it is a great compliment to get from a Dance champion and a coach who works in Dance field (he mentioned briefly about Yuzu and Patrick's superior SS).

My deduction: Fernandez wants to close up to Hanyu, because for shure Hanyu will show 4Lo next season, and as all of you know Hanyus 4 Lo is impeccable ( not: "relatively correct looking" ).
These two are like brothers, they share ice, coach and quads skills. Yuzu came to Toronto to watch and learn quads from Javier, not it's like they learn from each other. You know what? I wish there was a chance they both switch their SP or LP's for a show exhibition numbers. I'd love to see those performances. That could have been so much fun!:dance3:

i think i am still traumatised by the "golden frill costume " and that suit was well fitted but i think jacket was a bit short
Golden frill was a bit too much, I agree. But I loved the jacket, so what if it was bit shorter than most Japanese men wear to look uber formal? That was very cool, I loved it. Maybe it was inspired by Korean doramas men wear style.

i wold like to see him play with placements of elements a little, he usually does 3 jumps, spin/stsq, 5 jumps and chsq/spin, it would probably be more challenging but program would feel more balanced and we wont hear people saying "he only does jump, jump, jump"(sorry, thats just me being selfish :slink:)

and wow, its been very long since the last time i posted in his fan fest even though i read everyday, thanks everyone for all the updates!!!!!!!!!!! :thank:

Lol there are people saying that about him? I wonder what they would think of the Russian ladies who do ALL jumps in the second half. :laugh2:
I personally think 3+5 layout is normal, most men do this. In fact, ALL men who qualify for GPF last year (Yuzu, Javi, Shoma, Patrick, Boyang and Dice) have 5 jumps in the second half, difference is Yuzuru just put one jump after the other instead of slipping spins/ChSq in between.

what i mean is, not doing 5 jumps back to back at 2nd half, but maybe do 3 jumps then spin or chsq then 2 jumps

Difference is that Yuzuru is the only men with both 3A combo in the second half which often help him get huge GOE.
Those Russian girls don't have quads and 3A, their hardest jump is the lutz.
If these girls can jump even just one clean 3A, not to mention quad, they wouldn't have to put all jumps in second half.

Yeah, I know. What I meant is that I would not really consider his program as jump jump jump considering he has pretty nice transition in between. I could consider some program that is more jump jump jump (looking at you, Boyang) than Yuzuru's for example. His program is pretty balanced to me.

Last season's men layout with Yuzu having the most transitions between the elements among these men. A balance program comprises of jumps, spins, steps, and transitions in between the jumps/elements etc. There are more in between Yuzu's 5 compared to the others 4+1 or 2+2+1.

2+1+5: Murakami
3+5: Yuzu, Shoma, D10, Misha, HanYan (Takahashi back when he was competing)
3+4+1: Chan, Javi, Aaron
3+2+2+1: Jin
5+3: Koyalda

Thanks for the info Sorrento :agree:

:rofl2: No. That would have been weird if Yuzu would skate Malaguena in his, say, Chopin costume.:dev3:
Ahh, I wish Yuzu skates a Spanish program someday...:scratch3:

You know, now that you said it, I don't know why I have this feeling that Yuzuru could probably execute a mean Tango

Lucky for many fans, it's not a tango. I don't know the music but I am sure it's not tango.

Oh, of course it won't be Tango this year, but I was just having random train of thoughts that he probably could do a mean Tango.

Mean Tango would be really awesome.:agree: Yuzu, please! (I hope he reads Goldenskate Forums once in a while:laugh:).

Yes! I was re-watching his GPF seimei and then when the Stsq part came and he did the lunge with a head snap, I just randomly thought it would fit a tango program well too; and who knows, Yuzuru might kill a tango program!
