Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

I've said it a thousand times before but I'll say it again, I'm so glad Yuzu and Shae clicked so well and right off the start. We, technically, just watched parts of his program and I'm already over the moon

He hasn't skated full programs yet, he skipped spins and choreo sequences and the 3A2T.

I know he didn't skate the full program I just hope I'll feel more enthusiastic after seeing the full programme lol. Too biased towards dramatic programmes maybe...

And I agree with what other posters have said about not feeling like the jumps are packed too closely together. Well... Actually I think it depends on where he puts the 3A2T. I'm guessing it will go between 4T and 3A1lo3S. In that case it will still be four jumps back to back (instead of five in SEIMEI). Well, it's practically inevitable.

That's a beautiful program for Yuzu. To me the music is pretty rather than beautiful, but that doesn't matter because it's a beautiful program. I love the movements, how it feels like it's woven rather than elements place here and there...and it doesn't feel like there's a first half or second half... it's more seamless than Seimei. I love that this program has a totally different feel to it than Seimei... showing his versatility!! A small thing I noticed about his final combo spin, IIRC, the transition from camel to sit position is what Brian used to do when he was competing, lol.

Just finished the draw, I am last (15th) and same group as Yuzu! (13th)

Wow, I don't think any of us realized his program would be even more back-loaded than before. I assumed the flip would be in the first half as in previous seasons. Looks like

Yes, his free leg is more extended now, it is beautiful. :luv17: I used to think this is more of a thing with Brian's kids. Because Yuna, Javi etc also has their free leg low when they land their jumps and I thought this is just how he trains them.

And lol @ TSL, they seem to be stuck in Pre-Sochi era sometimes where Yuzuru is still fairly sloppy. He has grown a lot since then, he is a very refined skater now.
