When is practice before SP ?

I thought last season he was looking very good so early on, but this season haven't started yet fully and he is able to do fp with 4 quads, we will see how he can handle this in competition

It starts in 1hour 30 min from now. But I don't know in which group Yuzu is.

Well, this article says that ISU will ratify if Yuzu jumps 4Lo successfully.
Also, it says Russian man will try 4Lo Saturday night (Japan time).
I don't know who he is.

Autumn classic will not count anyway for this, Skate Canada will

Autumn Classic is ISU sanctionned this year, so it would count if he landed it cleanly and rotated ;).

And keep in mind that Yuzu won't be the only one to try the quad loop.

Honestly, IMO, if he had really wanted that badly to be the first to land it, then he would have put it in one of his programs last year. Just like Shoma did with the quad flip.
It looks like he cares more about landing the jump cleanly and with difficulties so it can have an impact on his programs and his Olympic goal, not just an impact of a name on a list of "who landed it first".

I'd rather see him have a skate that makes him happy (considering it's the very start of the season and nobody is fully expecting perfect and clean skates from anyone at this point), than see him land the quad loop but then have a terrible program that makes him unhappy.

Chellenger counts for ISU records ?well, ISU is on the name so I guess you are right
of course, if it was last year they wouldn't but this year AC is chellenger it will be definitely counted.

The ISU announcement feels weird lol...have they done that before? :scratch3: Anywho I agree that yuzu probably doesn't hold much value in being the "first to land xx" jump. Being the first to land a jump only makes you a footnote in history. He skates to his own pace, to accomplish personal goals and he writes his own chapter in the history books.

I like this Challenger Series. It gives more skaters a chance to compete, and compete against top notch skaters which will only help them improve... and gives us fans earlier glimpses of our favourites, who are also getting a chance to see what works and what doesn't before the bigger competitions of the season.

I keep rewatching that new program and it keeps growing on me :) Now I can hardly wait to see the short:yahoo:

Yes, the ISU has not "ratified" a jump attempt before (it is somewhere in the 4Lo thread on The Edge). Agree that it seems Yuzuru's goal is not to the the first to land the 4Lo but rather to do it beautifully according to his standards.

The goal is not to jump it first but to jump it consistently every competition

Well, true. Boyang didn't land 4Lz the first time and I bet many people is not even aware that he is not the first who land it, yet they all associate 4Lz with Boyang. There is so much pressure on Yuzuru to land 4Lo first that I was partially relieved when I heard someone else has done it (though I would not call that "landed" lol). There seems to be pressure on him internally and externally to skate clean each time too. I hope he is taking things easy if things don't go as planned since it is still the beginning of the season. :)

I won't be able to watch him live tonight so I want to wish him good luck :luv17: :hap10: hope none of you die from watching the costume

Good luck Yuzu! :hap10: No matter what will be the result, I will be happy for him :)

I'm going to sleep now. Tbh idk what time the men SP and LP will start and I don't check it on purpose. Otherwise, I can't sleep peacefully lol Looking forwards to the updates once I woke up. To those who will follow it in real time or at the event, my heart is with you all :agree:

Well, according to the schedule for his practice group, he should be on the ice in about 15 minutes from now if there is no delay. I hope there will be kind souls who will give us updates about his SP practice too. :hap10:
