I found this from twitter @Iron_Klaus:
https://twitter.com/Iron_Klaus/status/788303133080510464

Tetsuya Kumakawa, former principal Dancer with the Royal Ballet said this about Yuzuru:

"Yuzuru Hanyu not only has a beautiful body, but his landings are graceful. This is because he mastered the plié in ballet terms. To be able to jump high you need to master. this. In his case, his awareness extends to a place beyond the ground (ice)."

:cheer:

Fantastic find!

Please consider reposting it to relevant threads in the main discussion area. I am so tired of hearing the ridiculous memes about his posture and toe-pointing being substandard.

Hello everyone :)
I read your posts often, but I registered only now. It was too lonely and boring not have anyone to talk about yuzuru's skating, so I decided to join the fun :hap10:
And thank you for all the precious info you shared until now :clapper:

Depends on how many hours a day you spend on it  and expect a big increase on the number of pages during SC and NHK

I love Yuzu way too much (ended up finally ordering the calendar. I'm afraid it's only downhill from there) and i tried to do that too. I think i only got to page 1200+...
Javi entenderá :P no te preocupes jajaja al final todos terminamos aceptando que Yuzu es adorable y no puedes evitar estarlo siguiendo también :D

Jajaja, I know it's a great challenge. And with so many competitions coming up, but it will be fun trying

Not necessarily Yuzuru-related but this is Tetsuya Kumakawa's info from Wikipedia. Saw some videos of him, he is amazing.

Tetsuya Kumakawa was born on 5 March 1972 in Asahikawa, Hokkaido, Japan. He began studying Ballet at 10 years old; aged 15, he moved to the UK and trained at the Royal Ballet School, before joining The Royal Ballet in 1989 and becoming the youngest soloist in their history. He was promoted to first soloist in 1991, and principal dancer in 1993.

Kumakawa won the Gold Medal and the then newly established Prince Takamado Prize[1] at the 1989 Prix de Lausanne and returned as a jury member in 2013.[2]

With The Royal Ballet, Kumakawa has danced roles such as 'Lead Mandolin Player' in Romeo and Juliet (MacMillan), Act 1 pas de trois in Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake, The bronze Idol in La Bayadère and 'The Fool' in the premiere of Kenneth Macmillan's The Prince of the Pagodas. [1]

In 1998, Kumakawa and five other leading male dancers from the Royal Ballet, Stuart Cassidy, Gary Avis, Matthew Dibble, Michael Nunn and William Trevitt, left to form K-ballet.He set up the K-Ballet School for young dancers in 2003.

In 2006, Kumakawa won the "fifth Asahi Scenic Art Prize" for his artistic and original interpretation and presentation of the classical pieces "Don Quixote" and "The Nutcracker"

And being a principal dancer of the royal ballet, which is one of the most world-renowned Ballet companies, is really amazing! :clapper:

This is exactly why I love his jumps more than anyone else's: he's got power and grace performing them. It's a magic combination to me.

:cheer:

Well, some people are stuck in the past, can't be helped.
Just nice to see people who actually know what he is talking about appreciating Yuzu's graceful and soft landing :luv17: (and not complaining about his line or posture lol, which is getting outdated)

If i am not mistaken, i saw in twitter that Nobunari Oda said on TV that with his costume for the FS, Yuzu looked like a "forest fairy". He does have the grace of a fairy
Edit: A piece of fanart related to the moment hahaha

Really late to this party, but...
Danish is impossible. As is Dutch!

I'd be perfectly willing to sacrifice my free time to teach Yuzu how to pronounce a proper (i.e. not southern dialect softish) Dutch hard G. I think I could manage it without him killing his throat.
If you can properly pronounce that, the rest is easy.

Well, that, and all the wacko diphthongs we have:
oe ie ui ei ee aa oo uu ij (yes, it's an i j combo and it's a diphthong, and it's NOT the same as the y)

I had a few students of Dutch study Gothic with me - and that was entertaining, since every time they hit a G, they produced most spectacular gutteral sounds instead of just G. Mind you, they forgot to make the sound fricative when it was necessary.
But their teacher of German, which was their second foreign language, had it worse.

I think that many of us would be willing to sacrifice ourselves in order to make Yuzu a brilliant polyglot :P
