I read on Twitter Yuzuru "unleashed"oh, he can be incredible cute!
He seemed to be so delighted to be with Plushenko this year's Fantasy on Ice. So his inner fanboy was unleashed too. Heheh.

The broadcast just ended. My favorite performances were Arakawa Shizuka's Tango, Nobunari Oda's You can always come back Home, Stephane Lambiel's Slave to the music, Fernandez SP and of course, Yuzu.

Thank you for sharing and translator for your hard work!! I wish we all could read this important interview not only in the booklet of an ice show :sarcasm:
I've just come back from work and watched only OP and Cat's Eye so far. I really liked the costume, Yuzuru looks great in it!! Honestly I was expecting we could see more of the parts from fan's reports, but this show is not performed only by him so I should understand that
It's a shame we won't have Niigata broadcast though...

I like that he gave a lot of thought to repeating Chopin for a third season, and liked reading his reasoning for it. But it's because of the repetition of Chopin that I am sort of dreading the idea that he might repeat Seimei again too. If he wasn't repeating Chopin, I'd say 'bring Seimei back, yes!' because I love that program, but since he already has chosen Chopin as his SP, I am not particularly in love with the idea of him repeating a second program as well. There's a narrative that could form around 'playing it too safe' that I'd like him to avoid. Not to mention that then he'd put even more pressure on himself to be flawless with two programs he's been flawless with before (well, step sequence levels notwithstanding
). What happens to his motivation if he fails to go clean? He's already pissed at himself in the FaOI shows when he fails his jumps, despite the bad rink and ice conditions in those...- Joined

I totally agree. I'm bracing myself for Seimei 2 and hoping against hope for a new Long Program. But if he chooses to repeat Seimei, well, at least it's a great program, like Chopin. We're going to have to wait so loooooong before we know for sure.

For me that interview screams, 'I will retire after the Olympics' (If I win). The feeling of wanting to skate that program again...the words that are not being said are, 'because it's the last time'. If that's the case I can understand much better where he's coming from concerning Chopin. Still he is so young, he has another cycle in him, but I guess it is tiring and hard to stay motivated.
I actually would like to see Seimei again. Much more than Chopin. But I think repeating 2! programs will be harder to defend than repeating one. And if he retires, there should be one 'original'. He seems aware of the criticism so I don't believe he'll repeat the LP.

Nah, he won't retire after the Olympics, especially if he does two repeat programs. That'd be a poor way to retire. He will probably wait for Saitama in 2019 and do it at home.

After some time has passed since his Chopin 3 announcement, I feel most of us have accepted his decission. I just really really hope he'll bring something new to the long, but if he is doing a warhorse then maybe repeating seimei doesn't sound too bad. I guess I just wish he'd do something different like these two past seasons.

Yeah. I mean, I love the guy, but I really don't want two repeat programs. Chopin is enough of a repeat. And unless his Seimei 2.0 is basically almost a different beast made with music cuts from other parts of the OST, I'll probably always be a little disappointed if he also repeats it, no matter how much I like Seimei. I'll still support him but I'll always wish for something more. If he does bring that potentially gorgeous 4Lz into the game, I might forgive him a little bit. A tiny bit.

I don't know what to hope for in regards to Yuzu staying in competitive skating or going pro. He obviously loooves performing in shows and I'm super interested to see what he'd do with new EX numbers if he had the time to concentrate on that instead of trying to juggle both.
-Basically, whatever he wants to do, I'm going to be for.

As for your question, Yuzu is not scheduled to any competitions in the US as far as we know this season. But he may go to a B competition in Canada, like the Autumn Classic, since he did that for the previous two seasons?
