It was particularly bad this time around. From the components to a +1 for that Axel, when compared to some others.

No. Just no. No.

The collusion between two countries' judges and the revenge attempt by the one behind it couldn't be more obvious....sometimes you wonder if they understand the word karma.....

His face at the score ahahaha
It looked like they were laughing at his wonky spins too

The programme was just beautiful, I can't wait to see it progress. I was watching at a friend's who doesn't even like figure skating much and she said 'he just seems like he's flying!' and watched the whole thing!

And I love the costume. He looks beautiful in it it accentuates his lovely graceful lines really nicely.

...Although I did have a momentary vision of him skating round singing THE COLD NEVER BOTHERED ME ANYWAYY at the judges so uh... this is now dubbed the Frozen outfit in my head, I guess

I love the program, I love the costume (but kinda wish it was a different color since it doesn't scream autumnal to me, more like winter), I laughed myself silly at his sit spin being invalidated and didn't quite like parts of his protocol when I looked at it. You know the parts.

I also don't find him having any lack of motivation? He's just finding different ways to motivate himself that don't revolve around maximizing his program's BV. But the kuyashii is still there so we'll definitely see how it influences him going forward and if it supplants the more zen 2-time Olympics champion attitude.

Man, you sure can't tear a man away from his favorite color, e is a 2x Olympic Champion, huh?? It looked very bling-bling on screen so I'm sure it's even more so in person!

I had a very lucky day today; I didn't think I could catch any stream since I was working, but somehow managed to catch his practice stream before I head out the door, and also streamed the SP during my lunch break! Work wifi held up and crapped out as soon as he finished

On to the program itself: I haven't had a chance to read through this thread, but I am very happy with his performance today. Spins, yes, I don't know the technical parts but I could tell something was off right then. I like the placement of each element in the program, so I think all his jumps are in the first half, some people might be expecting a higher score (since we are used to him getting them), but they were with programs with jumps in the second half, no?

I love the ending; I think we will get the dramatic finishing pose in the free so this subtle one I like! Step sequence was awesome, so is the lead up to 3A.

Ahhhhh, I finally have a spare moment to comment, and I can barely find the words.

Just... wow. Even if it never improves beyond this, I would be satisfied, but... wow. This is just the beginning. By the end of the season...

And that score. Wow. His face said it all. Not even over 100!?

Haha, I got super-super-lucky in that everything I had to do before and during the program was cancelled, so I got to just sit and watch. But I was in a crowded lobby, so I had to suppress my reactions. Afterwards, I went into a bathroom stall and jumped up and down and double fist-pumped and soundlessly screamed, "YES YES YESSSSSS!!!!" Hopefully no one on the floor below me thought the ceiling was caving in. Nope, just an ecstatic fangirl jumping around in 10-cm heels.

Woke up at 1:30am to make sure I don't miss Yuzu's skate.
I like the costume, the details on the back is wow.
The V line is also beautiful.
He looks like and is an exquisite Prince.
As far as GOE is concerned, why are judges being so hard on him?
But they will be proven wrong soon enough

Somehow... I don't know... he seem a bit disoriented, like he has that 4A target set before his eyes and has nothing else left to desire. It's kind of sad. IMHO of course

He always seems disoriented in English interviews! It's clear he struggles to express himself with the language.

Is it just me, or is he looking thinner than usual?

"It is regrettable (I am kuyashii). It was like "Aaahh". Well, I feel what count is I was able to jump, so it was good that I could put the program together. I think I was able to get the passing mark on the jumps."

(about 4T3T) "I used quite a bit of my energy there. I must have lost my concentration a little because of that."

"It couldn't be helped that I had that kind of spins. I feel like I have not skated (this program) enough in the practice after all. Making mistakes like these is a proof that I have to train more."

" I think I will have similar nervousness tomorrow, but I could experience doing the jumps, spins, and steps in the competition today after a long time, so I'll try to carry it to tomorrow."

To my eye, he seems thinner than he was in 2015-2017, but also definitely added healthy muscle compared to the Olympics. Given that he’s said he isn’t a foodie, he probably has more issues adding than losing weight, and with the severity of the injury, it’s not like he’s in peak condition yet. He’s a little thinner but he also looks very healthy, and his non-stop smiling is too much.

People saying he lacks “focus” need to chill. ACI isn’t when he peaks. [emoji23] And English!Yuzu can be... a trip. Like talking to Google Translate.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that about the spin. Pretty sure I winced (not that it wasn't gorgeous!).

Well, I just watched again, and now that the pressure of being in public and the distracting tension of watching live are gone, it really hit me how underscored he was. On what planet was that an under-100-point performance!?

Yeah, he has to be cautious but also I feel like he doesn't really care anymore? He's a bit mysterious to me right now. His behavior is very different or so it seems. I don't know. He's definitely in a transformation period.

He has his “media face” locked on very tightly I thought..he does that when he has things he wants to keep something private.
That is fine, I mean, he is under no obligation to please the media any more, not that he ever was.
But I agree he does seem a bit withdrawn, he has been like that ever since the pre season start.

Thanks for posting footage of the SP. I think the choreography is absolutely beautiful. However, the music leaves a lot to be desired. Hopefully it will grow on me as the season progresses. Not a fan of the costume either.

It’s going to be a tall order to surpass the masterpiece that was Ballade 1, which may be one reason why the scoring seemed off for him yesterday.

Very underscored. The transitions coming out of that 3A was insane and they literally nuked the GOEs.
So angry about the unfair judgement against Hanyu. He deserves much better than this. [emoji35][emoji35][emoji35][emoji35]
