Unfortunately, I don't think he would be able to win those with this layout. Having 3 quads is only possibly enough against Nathan or Shoma if he skates perfectly cleanly and they don't; they all have 4 quads. Yuzuru's main advantages are in PCS and in his ridiculous GOE for 4T and 4S; it's unclear if those would be enough.

Yes, it seems he knows it.

I can't miss the medal ceremony tomorrow because we don't know when we are able to see him next time. I hope he shows us smiles.

Sigh. He was having such an amazing season so far.

This lingering injury might mark the end of his career.

i am so sad [emoji20][emoji20][emoji20] i was hoping for a sweep this season.

anyways, i am hoping yuzu gets the rest he deserves. we love you yuzu ❤️

The news broke my heart. I hope he doesn't go anywhere near 4As or 4Lzs u ntil his ankle properly heals 100%. I wish Yuzu the best of happiness and health and full quick recovery. Yuzu is the most mentally strong minded athlete we have ever witnessed. He can go through this. We've seen him do it before. He just needs alot of rest until Worlds.

Yuzuru cried when he saw Tarasova after FS, she talked to him with warm hug in the mixed zone. She said, "Is your ankle ok? You fought hard." But he says he had to do the performance she would say "It was amazing."

They seem to be worried about Yuzuru, the poster says Tarasova went to the backstage after this so I think she was waiting for Yuzuru in the mixed zone.

Yuzuru said in the press conference, "I won't retire."

I woke up to this news :sad21:

I feel so guilty that yesterday I made a big fuss about him in the office. I was so happy after sp, showing his photos, videos to everyone and people who didn't know him were like  "Double Olympic champion? And he is just 23?"

I was so loud that my husband from next-door office texted me "Farnaz got excited".

I feel I jinxed him and I made lots of people that didn't know him jinx him, it's so ridiculous but I feel so guilty and saaaaaaaaaad :sad21:

I feel heartbroken :sad4:

As much as I want to see him in all his glory compete in the GPF, I want him to rest well and heal properly so that he can do better in Worlds in front of the Japanese crowds. After all their amazing effort, the Japanese deserve to watch him skate at his very best.

This is my only wish for this season

I don’t believe in jinxing, things just happen for no reason. Yuzu knew the risk and still went to perform. He wasn’t doing it for GPF, but for Russia. He wanted to come to Russia and gave those performances. He wanted to do his FS with all his heart and soul. I do think it was a dangerous move (after all, competitions with injuries are always dangerous, no matter the sport), but how mentally affected would he have been if he chose to WD (even if it would have been the safest solution)?
I really admire that man for what he did today, even if I was obviously upset too when he learned after coming back to the hotel that his ankle got more affected than he thought. Now I hope he’ll heal quietly. No matter if he chose to go to GPF/Nationals or not, he has nothing to prove to anyone.

"I will not retire" statement from him is enough for me.
Get well soon Yuzu, good things comes to those who are willing to wait. And that goes for us Hanyu fans too.
Hugs everyone and let's keep it together

Right now I'm just so thankful of going to Helsinki and watching him live for the first time, it was truly magical.
When things like this happen, they make me realise that we must treasure each moment when he is on the ice, each program, because it won't last forever.
I was looking forward to seeing him celebrate his birthday at the GPF because of what happened last season and now, I'm heartbroken.
I hope he can rest and that he doesn't feel bad for us if he has to withdraw, first it's his health.

is there any video with english commentary of today's FS :thank:

I don't know if you want to watch it. They were completely clueless about his condition. I heard that german commentators were even worse, saying that that they shouldn't be prejudiced but now they are and that with this skate, he wouldn't even win in the finals against Chen or Uno (telling the obvious -.-). They didn't even ask why he changed his program this much or what his condition was but as a commentator it's your JOB to know and it was big news this morning so HOW did it get past so many commentators? The british didn't know, the german didn't and I was told the polish didn't know as well. This is SO frustrating that they judge him without knowing or asking what happened! I'm furious and for the german commentators I wish that -against all odds- Yuzu heals in time to win at GPF. They praised him to the moon at Worlds 2017 but also saying he was an outsider because he was in 5th place. I'm sorry for this rage but this unprofessionalism is so unnecessary right now and in these days. Gosh! More than that I wish for Yuzuru to finally heal and not think that he's at fault! You did nothing wrong, Yuzu!

Aww, I was so looking forward to Yuzu's EX, but the more he rests, the higher the chance he'll make it to the GPF and Nationals after all, and it'll be nice to see Julian.

I hope he will be able to rest as long as needed, even if he won't go to GPF again.

He really is a fighter. Still so incredible to do this program, even with an injury. The first two quads were
