The latest every tv show about Yuzu has been translated and subtitled https://twitter.com/yuzuruhanyumuse/status/1079924077450616833?s=21

Poor Yuzu, he really went through a hell of a lot right up to the end for that medal...
:sad21: :sad14:  :sad14: :sad21:

But it will never get old the hilarious way he sniffs and then compares the two of them. It may have been showing off (adorably) but hey, if he hadn't earned the right to... who could ever say they had?

Me too! I wonder if they could do a life sized version of the picture?

What I like about this feature is how he showed his will.
He never goes into something half hearted.
Its either he was gonna win or if its going downhill he'll battle another day.

People were commenting on how he full throttled the mac laptop. But its refreshing to see this casual side of him.

Before from a japanese sports anime which I religiously watched, there was a quote that if you practice something 10000 times you will always get it right.
And good old 3A saved the day. Some may not agree but in this 2nd OGM journey 3A out of his jump collection redeemed his confidence. It was also the 3A-loop-3S which saved the slip up of the combo. It was paired with high GOE. Yuzu focusing on it even you were just a tiny bean was worth it.
I am so proud. And whoever taught him 3A first arigatou gozaimasu.:points:

Happy New Year guys.
May 2019 surprise us like the 3A.
When you think everything was lost, but hanging on to hope. We will all be caught by surprise that what we needed was with us all along.
(You all now know how seriously this interview made me feel :thank:)

It was great to "hear" what he had been through around the Olympics, because we had "read" in tons of articles but he spoke in front of camera and we could see his raw feelings in "every". It proved one TV interview is way more worth than hundreds of articles IMO, thank you "every".

This is a must watch interview.

How he was able to do what he did is INSANE.

He seems to have reserves of both strength and resolve that are waaayy above and beyond... a lot of skaters compete injured, yes. There have been a number who competed injured at the Olympics. But to go through everything he did for those months, to still at the very last minute not know if he could do it, and then defeat one of the toughest and most technically punishing fields ever...

Loved what he said about Ghislain. Yuzu is a hugely generous competitor, always giving credit where it's due, to Brian, to Tracey, to Javi, and now to Ghislain.

This I agree plus due to his sincerity and dedication he is blessed accordingly.
And he never forgets to give back, which makes it more amazing.

Spent some time sorting out the skating vids I have downloaded (which has ballooned with the deleting scare recently ) and I came across a quote from the British uncles (the GPF in 2015, which followed the COC crash etc) that amused me in a sort of bittersweet way....

"We're not talking here about the best skater of the year, we're not even talking about the best skater of his generation. He may be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, skater of all time... as long as he doesn't get injured!"

... and of course he did get injured, and more than once. And yet....

He is still widely called the greatest.

Yuzu must have been real careful with his boots for them to last four years.

FOUR years!? I can only assume that means boots plural. Otherwise...I'm not even up to doubles (still stuck on my axel) and I go through a pair of boots in two or so years. No idea how he does it.

It just means two things. One, he indeed has much less ice time than a typical iceskater. We already know from ISU data that he only has about a third of on ice training than other men. Two, he has by far the best jumping technique of men. You don't destroy your boot as much when you are landing light as a feather and well balanced each time, as he does.
