"Until a year ago, my dream was (to land) 4A. I was thinking my dream would be achieved if I did that".

"My current feeling is, 4A is not a dream but a thing I want to learn and master. I can feel it is more like what I should challenge (near future) specifically. I don't call it a dream."

"I think my dream right now is to become a first skater to land 4A beautifully in the official competition."

Thank you for all the updates on the unveiling of the design of Yuzuru's second monument in Sendai, this time commemorating his improbable and inspirational triumph in Pyeongchang a year ago.

So happy to see Yuzuru, who seems to drink up the light in the photos and videos I see of him in the event. And reading his remarks, I thought it was so like him to put his disappointment in Saitama behind him and speak about new challenges such as being the first one to land the 4A in competition, which may well yet be another record for him.

Since I became a fan, I have seen Yuzuru first as the young "upstart" striving to surpass the trio of Daisuke, Takahiko, and Nobunari to earn the right to represent Japan in international competitions, then emerge as the main challenger to Patrick's dominance in the sport, the youthful and twice Olympic and World champion, and now competing against younger skaters armed with an arsenal of quads.

Through it all, his indomitable spirit to further improve shines. That is why to me Yuzuru is his own monument. :)

How can someone look so smashingly handsome one moment doing the Seimei pose and then be so adorable with his “I'm embarrassed” gesture right after.

And he not only care about his hometown’s tragedy, but also Notre Dame fire and Taiwan earthquake. Truly an angel ~ and yes so glad his Olympic moments are forever captured in monuments.

Thank you for all the updates!
I could only watch the first few minutes of Yuzuru’s appearance live... Not sure if it’s because it has been almost a month since we last saw him in action or some other reason, but I couldn’t help myself smiling the whole time I watched the live since the moment he appeared. I felt he glowed and looked really great today! (Edit: going back to look closely at the photos, I think he had some makeup on!)

-I wonder if he had taken those photos for the pamphlet recently?

Could it be since last year? Is that a photo of him selecting(?) the materials for the Hakama on one of the pages?

Can people still get that guide book? I want one.

We have to go to Sendai in June and July, even Japanese fans can't buy on the internet this time. He really wants us to come to his hometown  But this official HP says there will be digital version, we'll see how it comes. https://www.sendai-meguri.jp/

He said in the press conference that he was glad to be "the media" which could help his hometown and Tohoku. I think he is very aware of his popularity and smart at making good use of it, and the most impressive is he never uses it for his wealth but use it for the people and the country. Amazing

I see thank you. I think I can come in June. A nice Hanyu fan whom I met I worlds helped me get FAOI Sendai tickets. Its at the back but I told her being able to come is enough. Then I must drop by the tourist information desk at the station for it.

Oh that's great! Congratulations!! Sendai tickets are premium tickets, my friends tried the lottery but almost gave up now. Have a good trip :agree:

yuzuru: shows up for only about 20-30 min to unveil his own monument before disappearing once again into the abyss
viewer count: 18,000 livestreaming on youtube, 100,000+ livestreaming on weibo

Chinese fans had beat the rest of the world

I sometimes go on weibo to search for some old Yuzu videos (since they took so many down from youtube), and the last time I checked Origin already has over 6M view whilst Haru yo koi had over 3M on the CCTV weibo site. Seimei on Olympic channel is crossing 5m soon!

Yuzu receiving so much love from all over the world.
I am so thankful he continuously receives motivation.
Next season will be awesome.

Because not a lot of people speak Hungarian, I added a rough translation in the comment section to his Rostelecom SP (Eurosport HUN) so everyone can have yet another take on his brilliant performance. Enjoy!

(PS: If there are other vids - Hanyu or others - with EUR HUN commentary without subs, please feel free to let me know.)

Love his comments on fans during the press conference. "I feel that they suffer more than me and at the same time rejoice more than me...Until the period before the Pyeongchang Olympics and the season before that, I focused on becoming stronger and was self-centered. Although I definitely felt all the support even at that time, I felt it stronger now since I have a chance to look at each of you." Always moved by the compassion, boldness, and genuineness he has shown in his programs, but now this impression is confirmed(or reconfirmed?) by his words.

While we don't have any updates other than the blog and some magazines, I and my friends have been very curious about why Yuzuru will not attend the unveiling ceremony of his monument on April 29. This is Q&A between Sendai mayor and the press and the press really wanted to know the reasons for not having Yuzuru in the ceremony, but the mayor kept saying Yuzuru was only available on April 20, the day of "the design presentation", and he told them he really could not change his schedule unfortunately. Mayor also said if the construction of the monument was finished by April 20, they would have revealed the monument on that day and not planned "the design presentation" in the first place. But they really could not make it even though they tried very hard, so they could only invite him on April 20.

Now I can't help thinking "What is on April 29?" I mean, it is his monument in Sendai and I don't think he turned down their proposal easily, he loves the city and people there. I can't help guessing he has something very important on April 29. I thought about the royal family thing. I don't know if this became world-wide news (I hope so), but the new era "Reiwa" will start from May 1 and the ceremony of abdication of the current emperor is going to be held on April 30. And the news say more than 300 people will be invited to the ceremony including Prime Minister, politicians, representatives of the prefectures. But the fact is I am not seeing the word "athletes" or "celebrities" in the articles, so probably the participation of Yuzuru is slim. But then...what's his plan?

Well, maybe he will go back to Toronto before 29th, or he has some works to do on TV and other medias. I don't know, but to think about it is kind of fun :p

Maybe work on new programs for next season or upcoming ice shows.

Anyone know if Lori Nichol works near TCC? Is she Canada based?

I'm just hoping she gets to work with Yuzu at least once before he retires.
