https://twitter.com/ucchi04271/status/1127770143549902848 Here's a clip from just after the Olympics where Yuzuru and Ayumu Hirano (Snowboard silvermedalist) are talking about rotations, and whether 4.5-5 rotations are possible in snowboarding.
Ayumu is now aiming for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics as a skate boarder, and recently won a Nationals title.

I am so rooting for Ayumu for Tokyo Olympics, he is such a great, humble, and hard-working athlete. I wish him success and happiness.

Fantasy on Ice will start so soon. With the anticipation building as to when we'll get our first glimpse of Yuzu, here's my most recent fan art.

an acrylic painting on a F10 canvas.
This is a bit more abstract than my usual work, but I was inspired by the famous painting, The Falling Rocket by Whistler, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nocturne_in_Black_and_Gold_–_The_Falling_Rocket

Acrylic paint dries fast, so I was able to finish this within one afternoon.

Oh that is gorgeous! And so evocative of this last season for Yuzu, both the darkness and the glittering light...

This is really amazing ! I like how it is abstract this time. I hope Yuzu will come up with a costume for FaOI that inspires you also

On FaOI, starting from 27 May, we are getting a broadcast of FaOI almost each week all the way to August (with Sendai, all three days for Makuhari and judging from the schedule, probably all three days of Kobe too) :yahoo: In mid July, we probably will get 24hr Yuzu program as usual. Finally lots of Yuzu to look forward to and before you know it is media day again :)

And even the shows that aren't broadcast, there will be pictures, lots of pictures (I think the first show is on the 24th? - so it will be a race on twitter/instagram to get the first ones up)

I read new "Ice Jewels" at the bookstore today and it had new Yuzuru's interview (but didn't say when he took it though). Overall it was positive interview and he talked about WC 2019, his injury and its treatments, Javier, his daily routine in Toronto etc.

These are only summary, not literal translation.

About Javier, when Javier started training again in TCC before EC, Yuzuru was worried about him because his jumps didn't come back easily. But seeing they were getting better after a while, Yuzuru was glad for him. They had short time skating together in TCC before Javier left there, Yuzuru was very very happy to skate with him even though he could not do the jumps, only stroking together was happy enough and he hoped it would last forever. Yuzuru is expecting Javier will talk about figure skating as a former top athlete for the future of the sport, and he would be glad to help him promoting figure skating in Spain.

Yuzuru had known the injury this time would be bad as the last one, and also known it would take long time to heal again. He has been taking a lot of care such as ultrasonic therapy and low frequency treatment, and trying to grow the muscles around affected part. He also wants to get more stamina in this season.

Yuzuru still has troubles in English and feels he has to work more on it. He likes the fact that many Asian people live in Toronto and he doesn't stand out because of being Japanese. The merit of living in Toronto for him is to be able to practice at proper time and avoid hearing something he doesn't want to hear (he says this with "lol").

I don't know how to summarize other parts, but I got very strong impression that Yuzuru has found new and specific motivation, which is to aim for 4A and win. And he knows he has to keep skating with injured foot as long as he competes and knows that it would make people worried. There is Brian's interview in the same issue of this magazine, and he says "I think his injury has recovered pretty much" (again, we don't know when he took this interview.). But at the same time, he also says "Yuzuru doesn't talk about his injury very much." As for Yuzuru, he sounds like he really trusts his medical team and is very thankful for their professional treatment. So maybe he doesn't feel he needs to say about his foot in very detail and precisely to Brian, but who knows, it is just my speculation. (My take is his foot will not be completely healthy if he keeps competes, and he knows it. And sadly, this kind of situation is not uncommon among the top athletes.)

Thanks to everyone for their comments about the painting! Yuzu really inspires art all around the World.

Speaking of Which, Kelly Moran, who composed music inspired by Yuzu had this to say in a recent interview. https://twitter.com/misshanyu/status/1129042582636507137

It's amazing how he inspires people to make art /music /dance, it takes a true artist to inspire other artists.

https://www.fantasy-on-ice.com/goods.html Fantasy on Ice goods and merch for 2019 is now displayed on the website.

Every year I look at FaOI goods, I wish they have the same artistic flair as Yuzu did for Ciontu lol

Great - my mad passion and self-indulgent obsession with stationery of any sort whether needed or no meets my deep love for one Mister Hanyu... it's a good thing I'm not in Japan or I'd have a cupboard full of these just for this last year!!!! (plus the FOI merchandise and I agree that COiNTU's was better but then COiNTU's merchandise knocked pretty much everything the other shows did into a cocked hat. Our Artistic Overlord made sure of that...)

Cool, Nishikawa is using my favourite Doryuzu picture as the main advertisement photo, I feel like Doryuzu has been vindicated a bit :)

He made us... well, not love it but see its virtues (the main virtue being who was wearing it, true) and now we're just waiting to see how he tops it - or goes in the other lovely direction - in less than a weeks time.
