Well, it looks like Hanyu brought back the 4Lz to stay competitive, despite Orser saying he doesn't think we will ever see the 4Lz from him again.

Brian probably remembers his own words... "never underestimate Mister Hanyu".

Sendai FAOI will be due in 2 days ladies and gentlemen.

Excited is NOT the word. :yes2: The love and support between Yuzu and his hometown :ghug: is one of the things that caught my heart from the beginning, and this is going to be REALLY special for them....

BEYOND excited. Eagerly waiting for the early reports, snippets, anything. If anyone goes please let us know what is happening if you have a little time. :) Really appreciate it.

I hope Yuzu takes a picture in front of his two actual monuments :) !
And I can't beleive they are only broadcasting one day of Sendai so far, surely the local stations could and would love to do all three ?

Another English translation of Masquerade with Yuzuru's performance (thank you, translator!).

Thank you for the link. Understanding the lyrics of the song magnified Yuzuru's performance even more. It was wild, raw, visceral, immensely and profoundly moving. And so was, I must add, Toshi's singing. I was shivering with the force of my feelings after I first saw it. What a magical collaboration!

In the comments section under the YouTube video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqmkPgQBLKU&feature=youtu.be) that was linked to the Twitter account, the video uploader and tweeter BlueFlame for Yuzuru linked this blogpost (https://ameblo.jp/ecovail/entry-12464703417.html) discussing the meaning of the songs "Masquerade" and "Crystal Memories" as to Toshi, who, like Yuzuru, cuts a gallant and courageous figure. Clearly, Toshi has suffered. And there was an observation in the blog that "“Yuzuru’s skating resonates the most with those who have suffered.” To that I add, Yuzuru's skating also heals, inspires, and uplifts. :)

Sendai is in two days, huh...? I'll be on a business trip, hmm, how to sneak away to watch... There's no way I'm missing the next steps of the evolution of Masquerade and Crystal Memories and the 4Lz, plus all the nice moments from the rest of the show and practice.

Hmm, with all due respect to the blogger and her friend, I'm sure that's a reason Yuzuru's skating resonates with some people, but I think it casts an unnecessarily negative slant on his appeal. Like, I don't claim to know what has gone on in the lives of the Italian and British Eurosport uncles and all the young skaters that Yuzu inspires and the legions of fans that follow him to his competitions, but clearly his skating resonates deeply with them, and I don't think it's fair to say that if they haven't suffered (which I sure hope they haven't, especially the kids!), that it automatically resonates less with them than with someone else.

Also, the world is a tough place. A whole lot of people have suffered, and correlation doesn't imply causation. I sure hope that no one who has suffered would end up thinking that that's definitely why Yuzu's skating resonates so deeply with them and that it couldn't be some other reason completely unrelated to any suffering...

Anyway, I can't wait to see Yuzu back in his home town. Maybe he'll get some of that gyuutan he likes.

I am curious why Yuzuru changed the program to Masquerade on the first day  (but we will never know)

You are going to Sendai, am I right? Have a great time :hap10:

I am going and hopefully no major hang ups.

It's an utterly gorgous hakama (IIRC, it was a gift made by a National Living Treasure and worth a small fortune in itself) and didn't he look out of this world in it?

Did he get to keep this Hakama? and is just renting it to the department store? I mean it has the Hanyu family crest on it. I love how his family has a family crest to show they were descendants of past time nobles.

As I understand it, it was made, using traditional craft methods, specifically as a gift to Yuzuru.

This says his family lent Hakama to the department store, the store also plans to display it during Tanabata Festival this year.

Is he doing 3Lz in the program? If so, it is good for him to be able to try different layout in the tour, as rehabilitation :)

https://twitter.com/echotpe/status/1134339676297285633 A festival feeling at the venue -Lots of food stalls.
https://twitter.com/rinrin_taku/status/1134329336104808449 Fantasy on Ice pamphlet, Yuzu in Masquerade costume.

The food looks soooo yummy (says she who is soon to have dinner but nothing fancy). They really are making an occasion of it, aren't they?

I'm so glad for him.

And one of the posts underneath the Yuzu-as-rock-star picture shows someone has made themselves (or gotten somehow! I want) a Masquerade bag...
