Its even more challenge to solve the problems when the tough period came, I believe Yuzu really handles his emotion intelligence on a highly skillful level giving the fact he is so fierce on ice.

Well, its better the instructor is happy and fulfilled from his pleasant holiday trips, when Brian is balanced between work and holidays, there will be better harmony in coaching on the ice.
When I heard about Brian's latest trips to Spain, China etc., I honestly wondered how much attention he can pay to his students at TCC at the moment... to Yuzu...
But then I look at this hug again and it gives me all the feels in the world...

He's probably gonna take his time. Most people these days graduate on average after 6 years, so no need to rush. I do wonder if Yuzu ever wants to go to grad school after he retires (since he's not had a normal school life since... high school?)

I'll accept him as a grad student to introduce/implement machine learning, one of the terms we use in artificial intelligence, to human informatics. It's such a novel, innovative and game changing study
I heard that usually it takes longer time to get the degree if you take online program in Waseda university. Plus Yuzu has to dedicate certain time to training and other activities. I won't be surprised if he needs a few extra years.

But then I look at this hug again and it gives me all the feels in the world...
This summer Brian and Tracy each spent a week in Spain teaching at Javi's summer skating camp (Brian did week one and Tracy week two) and they spent another week or less in China doing the same, including signing an agreement with the Chinese fed. Brian and Tracy are in demand as teachers and absolutely love doing it. Brian also got some of his skaters ready for their annual charity ice show in Port Carling, ON, this past weekend (no idea if Tracy was there; I'd not be surprised if she was with Jason at CC, or back at TCC with Ghislain and any skaters around that weekend who didn't take a break). Apart from that Brian has maybe taken a weekend or 2 at the cottage. That's...not that much time away from summer training, especially given the team-based training model at TCC. Besides, workshops and camps (and short weekend cottage stays) have been a part of Brian and Tracy's summer activities for years and they somehow managed to guide several of their seniors to Olympic and World medals (among others). Also: Don't forget Brian and Tracy have to work around the ice show and any rehab schedules of their junior and senior skaters this spring and summer. They've always been busy in the off-season, grabbing the occasional weekend break here and there to be with loved ones.
In fact, Brian mentioned around the time of Worlds that his partner, Raj, wanted Brian to take a bit more of a breather since Brian has been going nearly non-stop coaching and teaching the past couple seasons, apart from occasional weekend jaunt to the cottage in the Muskokas (about 90+ minutes one-way by car if you're lucky, more if you're not
:sad21: to the terrible traffic in southern ON). Please consider as well that Brian had to have emergency gallbladder surgery last fall, which I can tell you from my mom's experience is Not At All Fun. I think the main thing I am personally going to do is thank and wish the hard-working staff of TCC (Brian, Tracy, Ghislain, Lee, Paige, Geoff, and others) good health and the good sense to take breaks when they need them and to encourage their skaters to do the same. :luv17:

I work at a university (in another country, true) and the part-time rate does usually take 6-8 years depending on their study load.

Yes haha. The thing is I really appreciate Yuzu for even going to University in the first place. He could have not gone and probably not have to worry about finances for the rest of his life even in 2013. He could have taught Skating for the rest of his life after retirement and I'm sure he will do more than survive with the teaching fees. But he still went to Uni! I really appreciate how much he finds education important. He is so diverse and well rounded as a person. Brains and athletics! (I also heard Waseda is like Princeton University of Japan. The Top 3 Uni in the country).

I think the course Yuzu chose allows the student to complete it between 4-8 years. I wouldn't be surprised if he chose the 8 years option so he is not overloaded. So that means he still have two years to go.
and Waseda is one of the more prestigious universities in Japan, the type famous enough that if a celebrity gets in people would be like "OMG I can't believe so and so is this smart" (I've seen this on Japanese TV before haha)
When Yuzu entered Waseda in 2013, the Japanese news reported that he was accepted the normal way based on academics, and didn't rely on his sporting achievements (despite he was Japanese champion and had Worlds and GPF medals already at that time).

That doesn't surprise me one bit. I have a lot of experience with gifted people/children, and Yuzu shows many, many signs of giftedness (as in the high IQ kind, obviously he does more than just show signs of athletic and artistic/musical giftedness).
And I'm not the only one with such experience who thinks so.Wow these look so cool.
