So while we wait for Yuzuru's program announcements and taking inspiration from the most memorable commentator reaction thread in the Edge, please let's share our favorite commentaries on Yuzuru/his programs, the ones we keep replaying as the words of appreciation for Yuzuru is music to our ears. I use the plural as for sure it's hard to pick just one :).
I've shared these two beauties in the Edge already, but they are legendary enough to be re-quoted here as well:

Ambescalation in 2015 and 2017:
Chorus: TES 120!! [both die from laughing]
[...]
Ambesi: Now the dilemma is the following: In front of such a program, you as a judge sitting at the rinkside, how can you NOT give a 10 to: Choreography, interpretation, skating skills - because the steps and the flow you can see here is a rare thing - Performance is a 10 by right and since the last component follows the other four, just give a 10 for everything and stop. Game over.
[...]
Dolfini: I don't think, we'll get 100, but we won't be that far.
Ambesi: How many North American judges do we have? From the US? Let's check...
[...]
Dolfini: Just one.
Ambesi: Eh, that one could course some problems.
Dolfini: But the lowest score gets dropped.
Ambesi: The lowest score gets dropped, that's true.
Ambesi: WELCOME BACK TO PLANET HANYU!! POPULATION ONE: ONLY HIM!! Angelo, please go on, I can't.
[...]
Dolfini: Imagine, this will be much more than 90 in PCS-
Ambesi: 90?! Are you kidding?!? I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS!! YOU CANNOT NOT GIVE 100 IN PCS!!! YOU MUST GIVE A 10 FOR EVERYTHING, BECAUSE THERE HAS NEVER BEEN ANYTHING LIKE THAT!!!
INTERPRETATION: 10!!! CHOREOGRAPHY: 10!!!
TRANSITIONS: DO WE EVEN WANT TO TALK ABOUT THAT?!? You'll see, what the others will do later.
PERFORMANCE: 10!!! [with Dolfini in Chorus]
SKATING SKILLS: YOU WON'T SEE ANYTHING BETTER THAN THAT!!! A COMPLEXITY ON EDGES AND STEPS THAT WE'VE NEVER SEEN BEFORE!!!
Again, please go on. I feel like crying, because this was an incredible performance. A historic moment for the whole sport world! A living legend!
[...]
Ambesi: 97.08. That's a scandal.
Dolfini: [laughs] A scandal, indeed.
Ambesi: We have to take note about that. That's not acceptable. 223.20. That's the best freeskate in figure skating history and now you can all try to catch him.
[...]
Ambesi: Kolyada's face tells everything.

Ambesi/Dolfini deserve a gold status in the international Yuzuru Hanyu-Fanclub. Seriously, I want to see a photo of these two with Yuzu one day :yahoo:

They are definitely two of us

How can you not love Ambesi and Dolfini, yes they love Yuzu, but they are really so professional and very accurate on the technical aspects!

Absolutely - it is because they know and love the sport so well that they adore Yuzu (me? biased? yep :)

Have they ever met him? I always assumed they have because of what big fans they are. It's shocking to think that maybe they haven't!

Any chance that one day the Photo ban will be lifted during J Nationals and NHK Trophy? I find it strange Japanese people are so strict with Photo Privacy during their international competitions. Photos are a natural marketing strategy for figure skating (The exchange of fan shot photos of competitions gets fans talking about the competition for ages).

I think that since the fandom is so established and there is so much money to be made by licensing footage and photographs in Japan, there is no real incentive to allow fans to take photos and videos. :( On one hand, there will be hundreds of high quality photos and lots of TV coverage up-close of the skaters on National and local TV which keeps the sport very popular here, but it is at the expense of fans who like to take photos and video for themselves. But I know of several dedicated fans who travel to overseas competitions to take photos and videos. (for which I'm also grateful!)

Exactly! They don't babbel about his love for Pooh but his skating abilities and always praise his complex transitions in and out of his jumps. They explain aspects that weren't perfect like his final spin in his Olympic SP and their score prediction for every single program is spot on (1-2 points off the mark in worst case). Also kudos to them for explaining and visualizing rules, technical deficits etc.

Sorry for unrelated question but how the new -5 to +5 GOE is working? Is it multiplied by a factor? I'm asking because I see many 5s and 4s, regardless of being right or wrong, for Anna Shcherbakova's 3F from all judges but then the actual GOE is 2.2.

Don´t follow Juniors... you need to give more information to have an opinion and be aware that with the new regulations about competition conversation

This is the pdf of results:

I don't understand how those lower final GOEs come from the high values that judges are giving unless the average is multiplied by 0.5. I wonder if it is the norm in all the competitions from now on?

24 hours TV is tomorrow, but "every" will air Yuzuru's visit Tohoku in a few hours (the program has already started and I am watching), I hope we'll have video soon :hap85:
