Thank you for sharing, great collection of lovely photos :) And at the same time, almost a half of skaters in this video have already retired and I feel a bit sad. I am really grateful that Yuzuru still competes

Me too, I almost began to cry watching this :ghug:

I was compelled to post in the best 3A thread after lurking for a long time, so I thought before I do anything else I should come here and post in the Hanyu fan support group. So uh, hello everyone.

Hello and welcome - and congrats on excellent taste in 3As!!

Thanks! it feels weird to actually post here, I made an account last year just so I could lurk better during competitions  up til now my fangirling has been limited to watching youtube videos a, uh, few times and trying not to bore my friends/mother. I will be delighted to share my very inexpert opinions with you.

Guys what was Yuzu sayinhg here? And why was he the one chosen? Cause if this is 2011 there are other senior skaters here:

It is the 2011 Medalists on Ice (Japan Nationals Exhibition), and Yuzu is giving the end of the year speech on behalf of Team Japan.
He says that, although it was a difficult start of the season for all, and the earthquake affected areas are very still much devastated, thanks to everyone’s support they were able to continue skating, and Team Japan will pledge to continue performing to their very best in 4cc, Worlds, Junior Worlds, and ask for continued support.

As Interspectator says Yuzu was probably chosen to represent because he is from the earthquake affected area and by this time he carried the title of “ Earthquake survivor skater”.

This seems to be the 2011 Nationals and Yuzu is addressing the crowd, on behalf of the skaters in regards to the 2011 Earthquake. Because he was an earthquake survivor, he was chosen to make the speech I believe.

Olympic Channel has adapted that title in one of their post-Olympic-Yuzu videos, if I remember correctly.

Oh my opinions are unblushingly inexpert - I have a little list of skaters I love for all sorts of reasons that have little to do with their skills, and then Javi and YUZU.... who give me a hundred reasons to love and admire and follow.

You are definitely not alone, but at least there are quite a few online resources who have the expertise to tell us WHY loving and admiring them is right.

So very very young and so sincere... he was the right choice, of course, but a lot of 16-year-olds would not have been able to stand up and speak so eloquently following such an impact on their lives. He always does though, the interview with Kenji where he talked about it, I really misted up and I so rarely do when watching people on TV/the media.

Man, Autumn Classic cannot come soon enough. My boyfriend was in Japan for a conference and brought me Yuzu mags and candy as a souvenir, but I ate all the candy waiting for Media Day, and now I’m just on edge as we wait to see his programmes.

Tonight (Sep.8), we're going to have the report on Yuzuru's media day on BS Fuji, the program starts from 23:00 (I think the schedule was changed a little). I hope it is going to be like 10 minutes length, at least

Yuzuru's 2nd official photo book by Noto was in the first on the overall ranking yesterday on Amazon, and Noto was happy :)

OT: This is our Yuzu in the house garden, they are still green but will turn to yellow in autumn.

I hope we get a longer preview of his sp. It was too short last time. I blinked and it was over 😤

All I can say is "thank goodness". I feel like there wasn't enough media day info and now it feels like ACI is a long wait to get more footage.

Can't wait to see the new photo book, I really liked the first one.

I hope Hanyu fans don't have to watch 50 mins or baseball to watch 10 mins of Hanyu again [emoji23]

apparently 4 yr ago, when his first photobook “YUZURU” was released there were some fans who asked about a possible (prettier) hard cover edition, as opposed to the soft cover. It was yuzu &his family who wished for a cheaper soft cover release for the book to be more accessible
Yuzu and his family are always so thoughtful.
