I hope he's there for the actual competition skates, he did a great job on the practice (well, we think so, given the focus)
 
I think I got it now, why Yuzu is practicing the 3F.
If he pops his 4Lo into a triple, he wants to replace the planned 3Lo by a 3F, otherwise there would be a call 3Lo+REP (-30% in BV) and he couldn't repeat the 3A at the end. Smart boy. :cool:

He is planning to do 4T-3A in the competition :shocked: But when a man asked "But you won't be doing it in this competition?" then Yuzuru answered "ummm, it depends on my condition." The report says he has been doing 4T-3A in the ice shows but not in the competitions because its base value is reduced, but Yuzuru says here he has come to be able to think about doing it since he is free from focusing on getting good score.

He will get good score because it is an unusual combination.

He might get good GOE on it but unfortunately it counts as a sequence and thus this combo will be counted at 70% of its full BV. This is why you rarely see sequences in programs. I think Gabby is attempting to get rid of her usual -2A sequence this season exactly because of this.

i dont mind him doing that in this competition cause its cool! but thats it :biggrin:
 
I love the idea of Yuzu going 'screw the rules, I'm just going to do something that looks cool' :laugh:

I wish there was room for a bit more variety sometimes :ohwell: maybe he can persuade them to change it up a bit, imagine the controversy that would ensue if he blew everyone's mind and then didn't win because rules

I can see a rebellious badass Yuzu doing invalid repetitions and intentional base level step sequences, giving a *** about Flip and Lutz, "wasting" points with single Axels, spread-arm-doubles and jump sequences, doing more jumps in the second half than necessary... and winning the heart of millions of spectators all over the world while ISU is crying over the scoring system :rofl::rofl:

I forgot, what is the reason a -3A is considered sequence ??
