I was flustered...slept too late and missed the 6 minute warmup and the costume reveal.
Well, I like the SP costume best. I loved the way the LP finishes so dramatically but everything else was still 'under-construction' in the LP which is totally fine in the early season. Congratulations Yuzu on the GOLD. The medal announcement was really funny... from CANADA.

Congratulations Yuzuru on the gold medal!! He looked like to me he said "Shindo!(it was hard!)" right after the ending pose, which means 4 minutes program (plus demanding layout) is really tough to skate just like he said. I am really looking forward to seeing the performance grows, otukaresamadeshita, Yuzuru

To me he looked like he said “ Chikusho!” (dang it!) but I could be wrong.

Both glorious glorious programs (our Yuzu refuses to rest of his laureliest of laurels!!), but given his history with ACI and with earliest programs, the scores are I guess understandable (also, I was watching NHK 2015 yesterday and they mentioned that was THE first time he'd skating Chopin - or at least that Chopin - clean!!) Will now hold out for Helsinki.

The music cuts were subtle and beautiful, the skating and what he's packed in... just sublime. I really like the Otonal costume, though I was holding out for red/gold... but the Origin one? He's shown the other men with their casual and understand and dull black, how a King wears black. With gold and sparkle and brushed back hair and gorgeousness. It may be my favourite costume along with Seimei.

Love both programs and both costumes. And as many predicted he would, he struggled as he always does at the beginning of the season. Which is fine because the Autumn Classic is not when you want to reach peak performance.

Repost from the competition thread: I admittedly did the math in my head, but I counted the US judge’s deviation points in Yuzu’s free skate, and he is above the 12 allowed. And just to be sure... yeah, he’s well-above the allowed margin for the short as well. He also has a mark that’s greater than the +/- 2.5 allowed in both Yuzu’s skates. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Looking at the podium reminds me how much of a vereran Yuzuru is... two new faces with him on the podium and these guys are still in their first seasons in the senior circuit!

His pinky is VERY swollen. It shouldn’t take this long to heal if it’s just a sprain. I hope he had it looked at and didn’t just assume it was just a sprain... I had similar experience when I thought I jammed my finger only to find out later it was actually a fracture. Had to wear a finger splint for a while.

To me his FS costume has some kind of a magic power. He is like wearing a metallic armour. I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of anime superheroes sketches with it. With wings.
