In addition to Ina Bauer, I personally liked his performance the most among three competitions except for the jumps (the first two jumps were perfect though). When I was watching it on the live stream, I was just praying for his safety and can't say I could focus on his skating itself. But today, I re-watched it some times and I really liked it. As Yuzuru said, it was not like he lost his stamina, and I thought it was strong and emotional skate overall. And I noticed Oda also said his performance was more polished in terms of expression than in Finland, and I agree.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, it’s happening again!

:eeking: :laugh2:

Edit: argh, I have no clue how to rotate the photo.

By again, are you referring to how Yuzu convert your daughter into his fan?

I’ve been lurking/back logging some old threads and have been enjoying the stories of your Hanyu fan daughter :D

-Side note: Wasn't Yuzu's Ina-bauer magnificent in the FS. I see photos of it on twitter, the arm variations are beautiful.

It really was a beauty...I could feel his overwhelming passion during the part.

—————

Will the victory ceremony today be broadcasted? I want to see how he is but at the same time I don’t... hope he’s not feeling too much pain today now that the painkillers have worn off :(

I'd hope no one was crass enough to ask about it, but he realised that given the fact that it was the same ankle, it would be in everyone's minds...

Poor Yuzuru, he must be devastated but for sheer courage (and the brilliance that made reworking it even possible!) that FS took some beating. I hope Plushenko can reassure him and will tell him he's proud...

Sounds like TAT is there for him too.

I don’t believe in jinxing, things just happen for no reason. Yuzu knew the risk and still went to perform. He wasn’t doing it for GPF, but for Russia. He wanted to come to Russia and gave those performances. He wanted to do his FS with all his heart and soul. I do think it was a dangerous move (after all, competitions with injuries are always dangerous, no matter the sport), but how mentally affected would he have been if he chose to WD (even if it would have been the safest solution)?
I really admire that man for what he did today, even if I was obviously upset too when he learned after coming back to the hotel that his ankle got more affected than he thought. Now I hope he’ll heal quietly. No matter if he chose to go to GPF/Nationals or not, he has nothing to prove to anyone.

He is an amazing person! get well soon Yuzuru san!

https://twitter.com/oro1_/status/1064059246893920256 According to this, Yuzu will turn up for the Victory Ceremony. Let's cheer for him!

The commentators... I don't expect them to know everything before the competition given they had so many competitions to comment on, and Yuzu never officially said he was injured until after the FS. but honestly no need to act the way they did even without the knowledge of the injury. It's almost as if they have wanted to see him fail all this time and couldn't let their feelings out the moment he falls on a jump. I should have known that the reason they keep repeating in all their prior commentaries their bewilderment as to why he has not retired after the double Olympic gold is not necessarily out of admiration but .. you know.

No wonder Yuzu has to remphasise he is not retiring yesterday.

In a way he still can if he wins 4CC and Worlds. He can't be counted as losing a competition he did not participate in (GPF and Nationals). At least that is good enough for me.

You are right, this commentator also did not know about Yuzu's injury, but didn't make negative assumptions, but kept a neutral/positive tone throughout. https://t.co/OHDTczLuA7 ELTA commentator.

I really appreciate the support TAT and Yagudin gave Yuzu.
Anyone can tell they were there for him.
Rest well Yuzu and we will be waiting for you.

Random question so the guy with him while in crutches is his new therapist I guess? I may not know his name but please sir take good care of our boy.

How adorable is Nervous Papa Yagudin there? I'm heartbroken and laughing at the same time. If I didn't know who they were and who Yuzu is, I'd say that was a dad and grandma watching their (grand)son. So heartwarming to see how supportive they are, thank you for posting.
Yagudin's reaction was such a welcome and heartwarming surprise. I never in my life expected him to cheer and worry for a skater, who pays tribute to his fiercest rival...
I think, Yagudin saw himself a bit in Yuzu yesterday and his never ending fight against injuries. He is one of those few top-athletes, who can feel Yuzu's pain and frustration very well (reflecting on his own career...)

He's there, came out on the carpet in his crutches, but a big smile! Yuzu, We love you! :hap10:

He yelled 'Arigatou gozaimashita' to the crowd at the end and bowed.
Yuzu, we thank you, get better soon!

That victory ceremony was just... 😢 That was an obvious effort put into those big smiles...

Get better soon, Yuzuru.

I had a good laugh with Yuzuru the director pointing which way to go for Kazuki & Morisi. Pointing with his crutches, lol.
