I think he should be back in Toronto for rehab? Last season he didn't stay in Japan for rehab either, and this time he went back only for the medical check-up.

I'm sure Yuzu wants to compete as much as possible but I don't think he would risk it for Nationals TBH. The discussion for future comps may be a reference to crafting training plans to properly prepare for Worlds.

It's hard to believe that Yuzuru is 24 now... Not because he looks so young (and he really does), but because he's so energetic and full of enthusiasm like a novice boy.

First of all I wish him strong health. Good shape is crucial - everything else he can easily get thanks to his incredible talent and unique personality.

Despite the pity he couldn't be at the GPF, our birthday boy still keeps all of his SP, FP and total world records (with a large margin in total too)

BTW I was reading Russian news about GPF and in an interview with Ilya Averbukh, which was mostly about the girls, he had this to say about Yuzu: "the leader in men's single is, of course, Yuzuru Hanyu. There are no equal to him now. A leader is one who competes with himself. "

I like to think I would have have been okay with the free or the combined being overtaken by really a great skate in the GPF (the SP wasn't in any real danger ) knowing that it would have fired Yuzuru up to aim for that 200 that he wants in the FS.

But given that we didn't see said great skate I can continue to gloat that Yuzu still holds all three as well as the historical... I think a little satisfaction is allowable.

I just hope he didn't spend the day sitting watching it and getting all kuyashii knowing he could do better....

I don't think so. Yagudin isn't a figure skating fan. He watches at his daughters instead of watching skating. Tarasova can be called a fan. As for Yagudin... well, he can say what he thinks, when he is supposed to comment skating. He can say: "I'm extremely happy" - yet to say the truth, he is often "extremely happy", he likes such words as "extremely" or "absolutely". In Russian he usually uses the word "insanely" in such cases.

Do you guys reckon Yuzuru will pull out something like 3A-4T? It's worth 3.5 BV more than 4T-3A, although it sounds ungodly difficult; Shoma's attempt looked pretty ugly for that reason.
