Toshl has performed Cruel Angels thesis somewhere else before, and that is why it was one of the choices for FaOI I guess. (I don't know if he covered the song in his album).

I woke up now and still no videos and photos? I hope we'll have those today since it is weird even Kobe TV has not reported the show yet. I feel like he has landed clean 4Lz in TCC, in the bigger rink with no show lights. Please keep working safely during FaOI, Yuzuru :)
(and it's nice to hear Scott was cheering for Yuzuru, I am waiting for side by side 1A with Yuzuru, Tessa and Scott again :biggrin:)
 
I forgot to say that Yuzuru in denim pants was my favorite, I am looking forward to seeing that in the finale :hap85:

The main voice actor for Evangelion tweeted about Yuzu, and it's had over 6000 retweets and 11000 likes already...

It occurred to me when I was looking online at a bit of Tokyo Ghoul (not squeamish me's thing at all, but I'd rather taken to some of the music and was curious) that as he has matured, Yuzu looks even more like the ideal of an anime hero, the large eyes, small pointed face, long neck and limbs and that waist... it's not only that he is built as the perfect figure skating machine, he is also designed by fate with the perfect bishonen looks for an Asian idol. If he did a competition piece to one of the top anime soundtracks (I've already said I would LOVE Tokyo Ghoul, though do not trust him one little bit as far as a costume goes) the overlapping fandoms would explode.

It's a legendary anime but a bit old so not as accesible to newer anime fans. Since Sochi Japanese fans have been saying that he looks like the main character ( well people have been saying he look like all sorts of anime main character) and wanting him to skate to the theme song, hence the big reaction on Japanese Twitter yesterday. Even the song writer and voice actress were like "OMG Yuzu skated to this song, I must see!". It would have been better if FaOi opening costume is closer to the actual anime though.
 
People think Yuzu looks like the main character of Evangelion...? I don't see that at all. :laugh: Then again, I've never seen the show save for one episode that my lying middle school buddy tricked me into watching by swearing it was full of cute BL fluff.

He has zero resemblance to the main character of Evangelion both in appearance and in character. I've watched the show only because it's some kind of cult and you always see some trace of it everywhere so get curious at the end. However, it was disappointing, I love fantasy but when they try to explain it scientifically it becomes extremely absurd :rolleye:

Anyhow, Yuzu is so far from a gloomy teenager, abused by adults, waiting for a tragic destiny :noshake:

Yeah, it's all over the place, which is why I know what the character looks like even though I've only seen one episode. Never in a million years would I have thought he looked like Yuzu.

And that is why I had to be tricked into watching it. :laugh: Way too gloomy for my tastes.

I'm still waiting for someone (preferably Yuzu) to skate to One-Winged Angel...
 
I think when they say he resembles Shinji, the main character, they are talking about body proportion and hair cut, not so much his face or personality. But then Yuzu has the perfect anime like body so depending on which anime you like he can resemble different characters ( e.g. since yesterday, I've seen people asking him to skate to Lelouch and Tokyo Ghoul etc.). But personality wise he really resembles no character I can think of...Most main protagonists are either cocky or a bit timid and moody, neither of which Yuzu are. BTW people have dug out the voice actor old posts who appears to be a Yuzu fan for a while and even writes she hope Shinji becomes a stronger character like Yuzu ( imagine that, a voice actor wish their anime character becomes more like Yuzu not the other way)

It is amazing to think that a person who is almost the same age as Eva knows the theme song. Because the song was only aired for 6 months on TV, but it still remains today."

I haven't watched Evangelion either, but I also think most of the people who think Yuzuru looks like Shinji must be talking about their body figures, especially Yuzuru in UA.
 
Actually based off reports I read yesterday, there were people saying that the fall plus rolling on the ice was part of the choreography, not a mistake. But since many reports said he fell I thought the ones who said it was choreography may be mistaken, but now it appears they may be right. Although why Yuzu would choreograph something like that is kinda funny

We need to see it to decide and given that everyone involved - even the press! - seem to have taken ninja lessons from our Yuzu.....
