Yuzuru simplified layout has the highest BV in the field
He scored 104 TES in GPF with fall on last lutz, and Javier scored 85 with some mistakes ( i don't remember which one it was ).

He has mistakes buffer over others even if they skate perfectly, but it depends on what elements those mistakes happen. He has two huge 3A combos late in program that are giving him a lot points

Ah okay, thank you. I somehow got it into my head that since Yuzuru and Javi work with the same team of specialists, their intended original base value was more or less the same. If they both skated cleanly, wouldn't their BV be more or less the same? For example, I don't think Javi has jumped all his 3 quads this season yet, so that's where the diffrence in TES achived comes from. (Where is Ms. P and her data analysis when we need her...)

In any case, I hope they'll both, and other men as well, skate to the best of their abilities and show off the beauty of their programs!

Mens:
1. Hanyu is unbeatable.
2. Javier Fernandez is becoming the next Patrick Chan - he gets so much help from the judges...
3. Tossup - since Machida retired, I would say it's between Mura, Ten, Voronov, Kovtun, and Murakami, but most likely Mura.

Women:
1. Elizaveta vs. Elena - Finally, a TRUE rivalry, not something out of nothing.
2. Elizaveta vs. Elena
3. Between: Ashley, Anna, and maybe Gracie... I have my money on Ashley, if not then Anna. I don't think Gracie has a real shot, only if Anna and Ashley have a meltdown. Possibly Miyahara??

Pairs:
1. Duhamel/Radford - As a Canadian myself, I have to say that I cannot stand this couple, but they get allot of help from the judges, as hinted from GPF...
2. Stolbova/Klimov - I hope that they can be as consistent as they were earlier this season, Idk why but ever since the GPF they haven't hit a clean program.
3. Between - Sui/Han & Kavaguti/Smirnov: Actually, both of these can challenge for silver, even the title if the judging is FAVORED for anyone... Both are great, and actually do the quad correctly and cleanly.

Ice Dance: It's a real tossup, because we haven't seen the best from really any of the top players, but here is my prediciton.
1. Weaver/Poje - Silver at last years worlds and GPF Champs, I think they are better than everyone else.
2 & 3. Okay, here is where we see the real battle, between: Shibutanis, Illynikh/Zhiganshin, Papadakis/Cizeron, Chock/Bates, Lanotte/Cappellini... I have my money on Papadakis/ Cizeron for Silver and Chock/Bates for bronze.

I would love for Satoko to prove this wrong but alas..her jumps are tinyyyy and she doesn't get much PCS love

Neither does Radionova, problem is she gets ALL the love from the judges... Hey, were you looking for love from the judges?? Oh, sorry, RADIONOVA TOOK IT ALL UGH!! And I'm rooting for Russia!!

I don't remember how jumps BV is looking for Yuzuru and Javier but overall LP BV Yuzuru has about 5 points higher than Javier. Javier have 3 quads, but only 1 x 3A in 1st half.

I think US men will be in battle for podium, most possibly for 3rd. Would be awesome if Adam can nail quad lutz there. If they will hit their layouts in US men it will be most likely between Adam and Joshua, if they not, then Jason will be top US man finisher likely

Yes but if I'm not wrong, Satoko has a history of under rotating her jumps, which Elena doesn't. Regarding PCS, I personally think Elena and Liza are getting ridiculously high PCS but PCS haven't made much sense to me since last season

If only Machida had been here, the results would have been a lot more unpredictable. Still I hope this becomes an interesting competition.

Elena might not have monster jumps but she certainly has bigger jumps than Satoko. Not a fair comparison at all.

Yea you're right, after looking at one of her videos I saw a lot of close calls... I still think her jumps are prettier to look at than radionovas though

I think judges have been lowballing Satoko's PCS this year compared to other top skaters. She is showing all the qualities that SHOULD lead to high PCS, but it stays low. --I'm not saying it's a conspiracy or anything. :p She just needs to find a way to make the judges notice her excellent qualities. Maybe project a bit more?

Sometimes I want to shake the judges and say 'look at Satoko's skating! Isn't she lovely?'

How many skaters have cleard minimum TES?
I'm afraid the number of participants will be low.

Go check the World Figure Skating Championship thread at the ISU Championships section. It has already been discussed there, I think.

The judges have actually been overly generous imho with Hanyu and Fernandez. They do not have the skating skills, transitions, blade control etc of Lambiel, Buttle and Chan and should be marked down considerably but aren't. Hanyu is not as genuine artist original like Daisuke. Nor is he a natural internal artist like Chan. Fernandez is pure fun cheese but his edges and stuff are not of even the quality of Hanyu but I do think Hanyu is almost unbeatable though I do think he has been over makred far more than Chan or even Kostner. The bronze is a toss up. I don't think Brown should get bronze without a quad right now but he might. Still he has to beat Farris and Rippon and two Russians as well as d ten. One would think Javier and Hanyu (though Javier could be third) would be on the podium leaving a dog fight for bronze. Ten, Yan, Brown, Farris, Rippon, Voronov, Kovtun, Mura, Murakami.

Murakami (assuming you mean Daisuke, not Kanako) won't be going to Worlds. Kozuka will, unless the Japanese Fed. pulls the plug on him after his Universiade performances.

I think the US men are highly underestimated in this thread, Imo at least one of them medals,

They might end up doing better than the Russian guys overall
