If Mao skates her Vancouver program, with no mistake in FP, she will beat her by mile. But the problem is - nobody can perform two 3 axels in FP now, after the base value of 3A is actually changed for good.

Mao's Vancouver free program layout is actually very low base value even with the value of 3A increased to 8.5 points  Even if Mao skates it clean now, Zhenya will beat her on TES alone.

which is why I disagree with the way empirical measurement is arbitrarily and in my view erroneously assigned to the value of elements in programs. Two triples axels, prima ballerina spiral sequences and spins, including a one handed Biellmann and a classic step sequence with professional dancing moves are examples of superior elements to me regardless especially the way Mao executed them at Worlds 2010 or 4CC's 2010, for example.

I meant if someone is planning to do similiar program now - with 2 3A and 3-3 and 10% bonus and GOE which are applied in current system, that would be quite different than it was in Vancouver. I didnt mean to compare skating and scores back than and now, because the rules are quite different now (values and GOE for 3 jumps are reduced now), and there is no point to compare it. But you can see that in Sochi for example, comparing to Vancouver, Mao TES is higher 10 points even with one 3A, and Yu Na TES was 10 points lower than her TES in Vancouver.

That's not exactly true. Mao singled her 3T and had a 3F<, without that the base value would have been a bit higher than that of Evgenia's latest FS.
For the record: http://www.isuresults.com/results/owg2010/owg10_Ladies_FS_Scores.pdf

You are probably right. [emoji28] I just assumed that with only six triples + one 2A, no lutz and not much backloading, the layout wouldn't be competitive against today's score maximizing programs. I guess having two 3As (which equals two 3Lz and one 3F in points) is enough after all.

OK, you beat me there. Evgenia did get called once.

stuff like this annoys me so much, that i simply cannot help myself.

2016/17 season, Evgenia Medvedeva's protocols in competitions:

Thank you for posting this.

I don't mind if people criticize part of her skating, but it becomes a different thing when untrue things are being said.
