Well, with those costumes, I would never have guessed that Lea-Sophie FROMM / Jonathan HÖRMANN (BAY) would be doing an "Alice In Wonderland" programme.
If a guy skates to "Alice", he has to be dressed as the Mad Hatter! Jonathan wasn't!
But, they skated it well.
Into 2nd.

OK. That was not at all what I expected from Mia GIBBESCH / Lias LUFT (BAY). Going by the costumes, I was expecting classical music from Mozart or Beethoven or somebody like that. But, we got epic Spanish music.
I'm not complaining, though, because it was a great programme.
They didn't have too big an advantage over FROMM / HÖRMANN going into this (just 0.71 points), but they should lead.
Oh, they don't. They drop down to 3rd in both FD and overall!

Taking a leaf out of PapCiz's and Fear/Gibson's books with the vogueing and waacking.
Pretty sure these two are the oldest skaters here in Novices, and I think it's due time for them to move up to Juniors, they look so out of place with so many tiny skaters before them.
Enikö reminds me of Margarita Kolosov, a German rhythmic gymnast, so that just makes me want to root for them even more.

Methinks the Kobor siblings have been watching Lilah and Lewis...
And unfortunately, because their "Vogue" programme became so popular, everybody else who does it is going to be compared to them. Which spoils the enjoyment. And that is not fair.
I thought they were good. OK, there wasn't the same electricity and excitement that we got from Lilah and Lewis. But, they are siblings and they are young. You can't ask too much!
They won both FD and overall, and that is what matters.

Unfortunately, we are down to 4 partnerships, because the brand new partnership that was due to start off the segment, Savenna PACHE / Korbinian STEINSAILER (BAY), have withdrawn.
I'm not entirely surprised. Korbinian looked like a rabbit in the headlights yesterday. I think this event just came around too soon for him. He wasn't ready for it.
Hopefully with a few months more experience in Ice Dance under his belt, he will be more confident come next season.

They were only 4 points behind the first of the two Berlin partnerships coming up, so they might have a chance to split them.

And you know what? I LOVED IT!!!!
They're already wearing a lot of bling, but they're going to be adding some more to it later today in the form of medals!

We finish the Ice Dancing with two beautiful programmes.
Darya GRIMM / Michail SAVITSKIY (BAY) are truly the full package.
Personally, of the two Free Dances, I preferred Karl / Hoferichter.
But, I wouldn't want to call which way this will go.
Grimm / Savitskiy win the FD by 6.09 points, and overall by 12.24 points.

That should be enough to win this event. A little hiccup in the twizzles, I think, but no major issues like at NRW Trophy.
And their choreographic slide at the end should be valid this time, it receiving no value at all is what made them lose at NRW Trophy after all.

You know, I have a sneaking suspicion that Sophie KREBS / Linus ROTTE (B-W) might win this.
They looked very tentative.
I feel sorry for them. As skaters that are brand new to Pairs skating this season, they need to know where they are at. They need another partnership to measure themselves against, to know how they are progressing. But, they don't have that.
But, that is a worry for another day. Today, they can bask in the knowledge that they are taking home a set of
Gold Medals.

3 of the 4 partnerships are representing Berlin, and the first of them, Sofia KRAUSE / Albert LOOR, had a moment early in the programme where they did 2 jumps near to the boards. Sofia had a very messy landing on both of these jumps, while Linus had a less messy landing on the second.
Given how close the field was after the SP, this could be very costly and confirm them as finishing in 4th position.

The only partnership not from Berlin, Aliyah ACKERMANN / Tobija HARMS (BAY), who train on this very rink, had a very different style of programme to the previous partnership. But it was very good too!

Because I forgot to ask yesterday, but does anyone have any idea where Salatzki/Röseler are? Did they also split like Mayer/Huber?
They and the Löwenherz siblings are the only two teams with SP minimums for Jr Worlds, though both are missing FS minimums.
Edit: Found their IG, they haven't split and were even training a 3FTh, so I'm guessing they aren't here because of injury or illness? They're on the entry list for the Bavarian Open, so hopefully nothing major.
