Yeah, the Shanghai trophy has the highest prize pool of non-major competitions in FS. When I first found out about this tournament back in 2017, I noticed that top level skaters like Bobrova/Soloviev and Elena Radionova (she won in 2017 ) took part in it. Only later did I realize that here one can earn more money than at Europeans and the same amount as at the GP Final. Also, for anyone interested, this is the prize money (in USD) the skaters are getting for competing here and taking part in the exhibition:
Placement Women & Men Ice Dance Pairs Synchronized Skating 1st 25,000 25,000 25,000 11,500 2nd 18,000 18,000 18,000 10,000 3rd 12,000 12,000 12,000 8,500 4th 6,000 6,000 6,000 - 5th 4,000 4,000 - - 6th 3,000 - - -
Explains why skaters are very, very willing to compete here even with tight schedules. Also explains why skaters might react quite sensitively towards losing a placement if they do not get a lot of monetary support from their federations like H/K.
This one is now marked privateHere's the Youtube link! (The channel we used yesterday is pulling a Lombardia and so I'd recommend using this one)

Japan Open is another good example - 20,000 USD each for the members of the first placed team; 15,000 each for the 2nd placed and 10,000 for the 3rd placed team.Yeah, the Shanghai trophy has the highest prize pool of non-major competitions in FS. In your opinion (or more to your taste?).Lopareva/Brissaud were clearly better, but well, ice dance will ice dance.
Already? Maybe someone saved them?Teplays have been pulled!
(Really wished I'd watched the Pairs and womens frees while i had the chance)
Nope, this is the ice dance competition, Harris/Chan just went.wait, I'm confused... pairs?
