Is this really the best Marina could do for the Shibs? Nothing really new except for the twizzles. The polish has improved yes in the upper body, but in terms of blade to ice I see nothing improved from last season. Chock and Bates have this.:disapp:

This FD is utterly boring. I don't know why they thought it was a good choice. They will surpass W/P and the US team in that regard. Interpretative's skill and choreo weren't there at all.
Nice twizzles though.

I dont know much about technical, but it was booooring as hell  and I have problem with their lifts yet. Well, at least they have a nice SD

It goes nowhere, they are practically doing the same thing over and over. Granted Maia's posture is lovely but that has always been the case. I so wish they developed their gala into a FD so much more interesting to watch. Again I say the most interesting dance so far this season are the juniors Y/M. sad.

YES!!! Very happy for them. I didn't love it yet but I may - I liked it a LOT. The choreography was very much to the music, and they executed it very very well. GO SHIBS!

I agree. Maia's posture looks better in the step sequence already and this FD has a little bit more waltz than I expected unlike their limp un-paso Paso. It bothers me to death (especially in their SD, a Paso!) how nonchalant some of their movements are. Regardless of what the character calls for they never make any move defined or emphatic. And doing cute jumps and one hand twirls is boring and for this quadrennial, should be banned from counting as transitions. Igor and Marina use this trick on skaters who don't have any real amplitude in their skating. Doing a bunch of these in a row to get across the ice has been their MO for quite some time now. Once Shibs FD gets archived, I will watch it again, without the sound, and I bet it won't even be a waltz anymore.

They have been skaters, not dancers for 5 years, in my opinion.

IMO, I like H/B's blades more. I know, this is their first season as seniors and they are not there yet to challenge for the World team.

Know what - this is almost exactly what I thought when I 1st saw Marlie's Fledermaus. Sure that program didn't win Worlds, but now I love it and often watch their best performances again and again.

It will grow on me at least I'm sure :)
