Just used the Time Converter that Mrs. P posted in the Cup of China Predictions thread, and that is indeed correct.

The 14:00 CET (13:00 GMT) deadline is 08:00 EST.

Thank you for raising the time zone issue. I'll make a point of putting that time converter link in the original posts of all the future Predictions threads.

Just added in the Entries/Results Page link to the original post. But when I copied in the start order tables, I discovered there have been a whole pile of withdrawals since Alex D posted the entry lists.

While we will try our best to take this into account when doing the scoring, it might be a good idea to amend your predictions if you do not have enough alternates to cover the withdrawals.

I have also discovered that the Senior Ice Dance doesn't actually start until 16:15 CET (15:15 GMT). Hence, the deadline for predictions is now moved back to 15:15 CET (14:15 GMT).

Scores are a little skewed due to nearly everyone having Peter Liebers, who withdrew, in their predictions.

Erm, unless there was more than 1 withdrawal among the predictions, Hoffmann and Liebers being missing shouldn't have made any difference. Everybody below them would have shifted up and the 6th place alternate would come into play.

That's how it has always worked in the predictions games. For example, when Kaetlyn Osmond withdrew from Skate Canada after the SP last season:

Just so everyone knows, if Osmond WD's, even during the competition, all your picks will just be moved up one. If she finishes both programs, and skates poorly, a pick will count against you, but if anyone is not picking her because of concern that she will WD (not a concern she will skate poorly), that should not be a consideration. Just make sure you have an alternate.

Since Kaetlyn Osmond withdrew after the short what does that mean for those who ranked her? I'm still a bit confused despite the original post.

If someone has her picked, she goes away and people beneath her are moved up accordingly. That means if a person had an alternate/ pick for 6th, that person is now picked for 5th.

Example:

Julia L, Osmond, Akiko, Gold, Gao, Hicks

would simply become

Julia, Akiko, Gold, Gao, Hicks. So you'd get 15 points for Julia, Akiko, Gao, and Gracie and 10 points for Hicks. It would be as if you'd picked Akiko for second all along instead of having her for third.

Does this make sense?

(Boys, but it took a long time to find those quotes! That's why it is so much better now we have separate threads for each round!)

Sorry if I did not make that clear when editing the rules for this season's Nationals Game.
