Skaters who are top 24 on the Seasons Best or World Standings list will be guaranteed one GP event.

The only skaters who are guaranteed two events are those who finished top 12 (singles), top 10 (dance) top 8 (pairs) at Worlds 2022.

The Seasons Best list is correct as it stands for GP selection.

However, the current World Standings list can't be used for GP selection because the older data is still there. Before the GP selection, the old scores will be removed. That will impact the top 24, as will the absence of top teams from Worlds.

You're looking at the wrong place - It's no longer "Ladies" but "Women" now.😁

Total best scores list, SP best scores list and FS best scores list (all updated on the 17th of April)

Ach, for goodness sake! So the terminology change meant that the ISU went and changed the address of the pages after just one competition. 😲

I bet the webmasters loved that! Having to repeat setting up all the pages only a few weeks after they previously did it. :drama:

Could the ISU not have just carried on with the existing page until the end of the 2021-22 Season, and then changed the address for the 2022-23 Season?!

Or, if they were determined to erase all reference to the word "Ladies" straight away, the least they could have done was to provide a re-direct to the new pages for those of us that had already bookmarked the old address and didn't know that it had since changed! (Speaking from personal experience).

But, this is the ISU. They don't think of the fans.

So, thank you @Jumping_Bean for letting me know why the pages I had bookmarked weren't updating. Your short message was far more helpful than the ISU were on this.

  :points:

:thank:

Now I wish I had asked this months ago, as it would have saved me from making life complicated for myself while waiting for the pages to be updated! :rolleye:

The name change from Ladies to Women actually came before the start of the season (The announcement came on the 31st of June) and by the time JGP Courchevel came around, "Women" was already being used.

My guess is that the person/people responsible for the season's best scores lists messed up and either manually created one post-JGP Courchevel or forgot to redirect an automatic program responsible for updating these lists (I have no idea how it works within the ISU). Either way, the reason the page is not being redirected is probably because the page should not even exist as at that point there simply was no discipline called "Ladies" anymore.

what will they do with the russian and belarussian skaters on these lists? maybe they'll omit them so it will actually be the 24 highest non russsian/belarussian skaters/teams on the list?

I don't think the ISU would "remove" them from the list though they will simply not factor them when making the assignments... Unless the war ends before June 30th... which seems unlikely :(

What will happen as the season goes on is that the top Russians will drop in standings as the other skaters/teams pass them.

When will the new US figure skating roster for 2022-2023 be updated on FanZone?
