Well, that could have been worse. He should make the podium with that.
(I love those jumping jocks with good skating skills: Joubert, Chipeur, Ponsero...)

Oh, really bad news about Kimmie Meissner.
I was really looking forward to seeing her come back strong with a good skate at National's.

Looks like Kevin's not going to World's unless Chan has a complete meltdown.

Go Patrick!

Vaughn Chipeur

He is going to worlds
speed you immediately notice
3a, perfect, huge, crowd erupted.
3lutz-3toe, controlled explosion, patience and control
3flip, monster of the jump
1a, he wants too much
3loop, handsdown
circular step, beautiful
2a, step out
3t, much better
3lutz,-2t-1t, ran out of room.
straight footwork sequence, audience is totally with him. he is a tad bit slowing down. music is still rocking. He had the crowd, does he have the marks he need?

oh gosh - I'm so sorry to hear about kimmie.

chan has such soft knees, and wonderful flow out, and such deep deep edges - god, I love watching him.

That was so much better than in France (I saw it live there)! So beautiful. I think he could screw up most of the program and you would still feel elated after the last footwork sequence. I love it how his footwork is diverse and creative - without chasing mice on the ice or any of those strange movements. That is really Lambiel-feeling.

Okay, that's a bit overmarking - but it's Nationals, it's okay!

Besides the weird 2.5F (he slipped on the picking toe, it looks), Patrick Chan skated phenomenally! The 3A's were both HUGE, really high and far. He's jumping with a lot more confidence and authority than last season, not to mention better technique (straight across instead of around himself).

254.xx his total score, unbelievable!

He did 2 clean triple axels first time this season
