They are there by Speedy's request to put down Delobel and Schernfelder. This is also the beginning of the downfall of Denk/Stav to lose the Worlds to Domina/Shabalan. It's the same old Win By Whatever It Takes mode.

Joe

Joe i agree about puting down Del/S and i feel very pity about them. But Dom/S won't be over Den/S at least this year, because as somebody from here said, it will be toooooooooooo obvious because D/S are 100% world champions and they are head and shoulders above Dom/S. The last thing figure skating needs is another big scandal.
As for Del/S i personally think that they have to change their coaches as soon as possible.Because they are couple number 2-behind D/L. And that, in my opinion, is a great mistake. I suppose Zazoui makes a lot of effords(i mean behind the scene) so that D/L are in so high positions. Thats why Del/S are always 4-th.The second couple often is better then the first one but suffer always from being 2nd. It gets sacrified in the name of the first one.One very proper example for that are Den/Sta. After they took bronze then silver then gold at NHK ahead of N/K, and suddenly they slipped into 5th,because their coaches were also training the next first russian couple-Dom/S. Thats why Den/Sta went to L/K and since then everything is ok

Hi Lanadd - First of all, I don't think Skate Dance should be under the umbrella of Figure Skating. They should make a separate competition for it outside of figure skating circles. pun intended.

Probably you're right, but i don't really care very much as long as my favourites are with gold medals and because this is a very complicated issue. My previous post was just my opinion and how do i see the situation with Del/S

D/L's new tango is wonderful. A big improvement — I think they absolutely made the right choice in changing it. I'm sure it was really hard to do mid-season, but I think it already is, and will continue to pay off for them. The new choreography really captures the tango flavour, and as always, their lifts are totally suited to the style of the music, not just generic for points, as so many other teams have in their ODs. They had some unison issues in one of the twizzles at this comp., but I was surprised at how polished the dance looked overall for such a new program. Can't wait for Canadians.

On her website, plus photos from the GPF of the Technical Team.

Reading about her skating career with Justin sounds heartbreaking .She doesn't seem bitter though .A real shame for them .
I think she looked stunning on the ice .She seems very happy in what she is doing now though .Anyone know what happened to Justin and what he's doing now ?

I know nuge! :frown: I got all nostalgic when I read chapter one of her autobio yesterday, and I definitely have a better understanding of the reasons why they broke up. I was thinking last night that, although I love some of the routines she had with Philip, they were never as good a physical match as she was with Justin. They just looked sooooo good together, and I believe would've been a top 10 couple in the next few years had they been able to stick it out, but we didn't have to live with the difficulties at the time.

I was very sad also to read about Marika's health problems during their second season together, and didn't realise at the time of the difficulties with Jimmy Young, I thought they had gone to Betty Callaway to develop as icedancers.
I thought it was very sweet how she thanked Justin and his family for looking after her at the end. I believe at that time she used to travel up on the train to Slough and live with his family for the week, only going home to Wales at weekends.

I'm looking forward to the next two chapters, with her development as a choreographer, and meeting Vitaliy! :)
Apparantly some folk thought theirs was a marriage of convienience, so Vitaliy could get to the Olympics - Puh! To that! They'll be celebrating their 8th Wedding Anniversary in March.

Sorry nuge, I haven't heard anything about Justin since he stopped skating with Le Fevbre, I hope he's okay though. :agree:
If anyone has any news of Justin Lanning's whereabouts in Canada or elsewhere, please post, thanks. :)
