Finally watched it 
I can't believe that I didn't like it at the Test Skates!
I loved the choreo and the way she attacked this!
And even though the costume leaves me rather confused (in terms of references to the theme or the music) and the fact that she even wore pigtails this time, she seemed much more mature to me than last season.
Can't explain it, just the confidence she exuded... especially with her face!

I agree with you about the reference to the theme and the story. No reference IMO.
I like the costume per se, but I don't think it's the best choice.
Anyway, she will change later. I'm sure.

I don't think that's a good idea for her SP. This is too much ballet.
She needs something more casual. Nice, but casual and modern.

Yes I thought that she might maybe change it as well.
Last season she wore the light blue dress for her SP at SC, it didn't look bad either but just wasn't the ideal choice and then one event later, she came up with the amazing dark blue one which was very fitting.

Congratulations to Yulia! Clean skate on her first outing with the program--this girl is a phenomenon.
My only wish is that she'll refine it as the season goes on (I think she will) and that she'll change the outfit (I hope so? The "tights halfway over skates" situation was very distracting).

I'm a huge fan of the dress and the half boot look. Very hip and its getting people all worked up. She looks like a modern 16yr old girl. :thumbsup: It takes confidence to make your own way.

Yes, it can. Obviously not identical but inspired by that style.
Pants for example can work perfectly.
Anyway, her dress is cute and not a problem at all.
Well, my issues with the outfit:
- The "modern, hip" look doesn't really go with the music/program. If she were skating to something funky, I'd have less of a problem.
- I'm not a fan of stripes. Anywhere.
- The "tights halfway over skates" thing was just distracting. When she was getting into the start position, I kept staring at her feet.
Thankfully, as the program went on, Yulia's sheer magnetism drew me back to her... but for a while I doubted if it'll happen.
Anyway, it's not a big deal. My two favourite Russian girls are killing it, and if they happen to wear bedsheets and stripes while doing so, who am I to complain?
