Hopefully he'll withdraw from NHK so he can rest. One GP season isn't worth risking more injury. He's still got until 2018 (Please let it be without bionic parts like his idol)
At least a bruised bone isn't a fractured bone.
The article said it will be difficult for him to compete in NHK Trophy. So I assume, 80% he will withdraw soon or later.
Then again, knowing how stubborn Yuzuru is, he still might compete in NHK. He'll probably rest for two weeks and use the last week to train himself for NHK. I wouldn't be surprise if this is his plan.

If he doesn't compete at NHK there's a good chance it could be due to the ankle sprain. I thought it looked like he twisted it on the 3 loop landing. Everything else he could probably work through whether it's advisable or not.

I found a more in depth discussion on the translation of 'contusion' here . It seems like they mostly mean bruising.
Am just back from shanghai... though the post has moved on since The day of collision (I have no internet access whilst in shanghai), allow me to just pen my thoughts.
Its my first trip to see an ice skating competition and it sure was traumatic. My sentiments are exactly the same as KansaiPJ and Firal. Watched some details in youtube now and could not help feeling depressed all over again, especially seeing him wiping his tears before his performance.
For first timer, COC is not a good choice to attend. Not so much because of what has happened, but like the others have commented, the crowd is kinda strange.... old folks walking around looking for best spot to practice their photography (flashed !!) etc. its disturbing to other spectators and am sure to the competitors as well. I hope the Chinese organiser will stop this for Words 2014.
And on his performance, I love his costume and in a strange way, his injuries added drama. Not an expert in figure skating scoring and hence not sure if his scores is justified. I have mixed feelings about him getting second place though....on one hand am happy for him but on the other, worried as it gave him a chance of qualifying for GPF, which means he may still push himself to compete in NHK !

Contusion is just a fancy name for bruising. Anything can be contused whether it's soft tissue (i.e. Scalp and whatnot), bone or brain. Where I'm at the term cranial contusion isn't commonly used because that would be referencing the bone which is a bit odd. Usually it's the soft tissue or brain/intracranial structures that are referenced unless the skull is fractured.
That would be a horrifying position to be in. Team Japan has practically grown up together so its obvious they care about each other deeply. To just think for a moment that someone you know could have been seriously hurt or worse, thats frightening. I'm glad that the reports don't indicate any major injuries. He needs to take a very long rest.

Actually we would need to read the medical report to be more precise; for sure Yuzu had a wound in his head together with bruising in the area around the wound and a bone contusion consequently( I don't know if this term is correct) even if a fracture is non present, and these are all related to the external part of the head,while only celebral CT scans/MRI can diagnose brain bleeding, swelling or other damages (I think he has already done this test) , and that's the reason why it was very dangerous to compete...

Agree with everything you said. CoC definitely has room for improvement, and with the Worlds next year in Shanghai again, I don't know if they have time to pull themselves together.
Apparently Orser said that at kiss and cry Hanyu-San said "want to to go GPF". He cried partly because there is still a chance to go. So I think even with this statement, he still wants to compete at NHK. However, is Japan National more important as far as going to the worlds? Can someone tell me how the selection goes? With the way Japanese Men have been performing this season, that looks like a true battleground. Maybe he'll "save" it until the Nationals.
can JSF actually prevent him from competing if he said he can do it and wants to go? For some reason I don't see this being anyone else's decision other than his. Someone mentioned that there are sponsors and tv channels who bought the rights to GPF because of him, and it must be adding pressure on him too that a lot of decisions are made based on him being there. Being such a sensitive person, he already felt bad when he withdrew from Finlandia, he doesn't ant to let people down again.

So the first is injury in the tissue below skin surface; no breaks in the skin
Second term is when the skin also breaks so with the possibility of an infection
They had summarized as follows:
Head and chin are with skin breaks injury.
Abdomen and left thigh no outer injury

Im not saying Yuzuru should compete at NHK, but the matter of making it to worlds through nationals, shouldn't really be a problem even with a poor performance. Its like when Takahashi was named to the Olympic and Worlds team instead of Kozuka and Oda even though he placed 5th. The JSF knows he is a VERY big name is figure skating and consistently has good results, and that is going to be a major part in deciding the team. But then again, anything can happen, he could end up not competing at all... I just hope he focuses on this health and gets well soon! he must be in alot of pain
