Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I... Don't know how to feel about this. I'm so selfishly excited to see him compete again and to see clean performances of his programs but at the same time...is he okay? Will he be able to deliver clean programs? Is this the best choice? Will he stay safe and do an all-triple program?

Wahhhhhh!!! Can't deny my excitement though!

Oh 😢 I was hoping he'd take a good, long rest, but I guess I knew deep down he would still go for it. That being said, I think I need to find some smelling salts and a nice, absorbent towel for my nerves and tears when he skates.

Given that Yuzu has been off the ice for a couple of weeks, its not even just about the jumps and spins....muscle memory will kick in and help him there probably...but i wonder how many times he has been able to do a full run through of his long program since hes been better?? He already has challenges to do it with his asthma...and aerobically speaking, hes gonna be sucking wind by the time hes done his long program. Good luck Yuzu-san.....!!!! 😊😊

Both the Yomiuri and the Yahoo! News article links are turning up errors... Could they have wrongly published it???? Being a Hanyu fan is so much :drama::bang:

I hope so. Please let him stay healthy! :drama: So he will or will not compete? Still a big mystery!

Yeah, it looks like whoever published that article jumped the gun.. I'll keep an eye out on twitter if there's any news updates and try to post them here (well I'm sure someone will beat me to it haha), but for now all we can do is wait.

Here's an article which says that Yuzu is "forcing his way through his participation in NHK Trophy". Not liking what it says in the article.
My Japanese is poor, but in the article I think they quote their information from 関係者 or "authorized personnel"... meaning I wouldn't trust anything said

Yeah you're right. It does say 関係者 in the article. However, I'm not surprised that Yuzu will indeed participate in NHK Trophy at this point. I just hope that he is well enough not to hurt himself any further.

According to this: https://scontent-a-sjc.xx.fbcdn.net...=c3c53973ad5635d985cd497961f87072&oe=5512F8BC

JSF said Yuzuru's participation of NHK will depend on tomorrow's official practice, if he does well he will be in, if not then he might be out.

I think it's good news. At least JSF seems to care about Yuzuru's health :hopelessness: And to be honest - one more splatfest from Yuzu and I'm sure judges will punish him in PCS. Everyone expect him to skate as clean as possible - if he can't do this it's better to not show up and heal

Japanese poster please help, does this news say Orser only arrived Japan today? http://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=20141125-00000112-spnannex-spo

Yep, today.
JSF did not say that they will 'stop him' from competing, they merely said that the decision will be taken tomorrow after the closed practice. Since Orser arrived today, it makes sense that they are waiting for his input as well.
Yuzuru has been training on the ice, and jumping as well.
