Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Well, if he's been practicing for 9 days already no wonder he is doing quads. Did you really expect him to play it low? It's not Yuzuru.
I am both terrified and amused by his determination to compete. He's... I just wish him good luck whatever the decision might be. He surely cannot get on the ice and perfom bad. If he's in- he will win. Other than placing 1st would not be concidered.

Nihon Keizai Newspaper Webnews (Not a literal translation)

Brian Orser, Yuzuru Hanyu’s coach arrived in Japan on 25th and told that there was a strong chance of Yuzuru’s competing in NHK. “We will check his condition at the practice on26th, but there is a good chance of his participating in that competition.”

Hanyu-senshu was diagnosed as taking 2,3 weeks to heal. According to Orser, Hanyu returned to Sendai from Tokyo and resumed his practice on ice 9 days ago. He is also practicing his quad jumps. “We have been talking every day and he told me he was getting better day by day. I have not seen him since COC, so I will go to see his practice in Osaka.” said Orser. If Hanyu is places within 3rd, he can advance by himself to the GPF, with the chance of his 2nd straight victory there.

Yuzu has been practicing by himself since last April , more or less, and still he has progressed during the summer.

Practicing coachless while severly injured is a different story.
I 've never heard something like that before. This kid has always to face incredible difficult and risky situations, no matter he's OGM , World Champion ..

I hope this is not true, I hope someone has taken care of him till today.
It's so hard to be a Yuzu's fan.

Sigh, we surely know that once he decides to do go, no one can stop him, even Orser,
so all I can do is pray and wish him(and my heart) luck.

I’m going to prepare myself for the NHK! :drama:

Thanks for the information. So it looks like Yuzuru doesn't follow doctor's advice to get full rest until totally being healed.
But I belive his mom and the physical therapist have been being with him before Orser arrived, things should have been OK I guess.

:drama: Just hope he doesn't add to his long list of injuries....He'd better rest after the season is over and not do 50+ shows again :hopelessness:

If he wins Nationals and Worlds he would be obliged to do numerous shows again. Do you think they would have somebody else as main headliner? It is far from being realistic.

:bang: I hate to think about it. JSF should stop. Yuzuru should be wrapped in cotton wool. His health is the most important. Do they want him to continue to the next Olympic or not??

I am not sure they really care. They may want to have a new young star to send and have Hanyu make them money by being a celebrity.

They guy should really just go take a year to be hedonistic and enjoy life then he can decide what role he wants skating to fulfill in his life.

To be completely honest I don't think the Olympics really wants repeat gold medalists anymore. That seems to be the trend we are seeing, so sending Hanyu back may not be that high up on their priorities. Realistically, Japan in four years will have other contenders, I mean it is not like they *need* Hanyu in the sense they have several other skaters that should be pretty safe bets to keep three spots and worlds. He is not their only option (which is something both he and his country mates should be proud of).

So they may just want to strike while the iron is hot and make as much money as they can while they can.
