Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

His edges look superb... what's different about it this season?
His hair is getting long! He kept pushing it back during the practice, how precious :o:
Any bets that he'll show up to NHK with another funky haircut? :D
I said so as well. When he showed up at CoC I was surprised at his improved skating skill. He really put his mind into it.
About his hair... I hope he will not cut it short. But it depends on his mother. She cuts his hair lol.

Looks like his back is still not recovered as his ina bauer layback is not fully extended as usual....hope he takes it easy and don't overdo it. Does anyone know the name of the lady official (the one that was with him K&C of Olympic SP)? Thanks all for the links, appreciate it.

Oh maybe he is just in practice and don´t want to go full out... :)

I just thinked, maybe that new transition to quad is because he moved 4T back to the front of SP for NHK ?

I hope so..praying. Could I check the ina bauer is there different value for fully extended layback vs half vs a bit...ok I don't know all these stuff :slink: I mean if he can afford to go halfway at NHK is ok with his current condition.

OMG he is cuter than ever! I am so happy that he seems well and happy!
So unhappy that I will be travelling to NY for Thanksgiving because when I booked my tickets I didn't know NHK will be in this week!
And I even do not have much money to shop in Thanksgiving because I bought the worlds tickets and will buy the air tickets to Shanghai ORZ!

just saw this on tumblr, maybe sone of you already saw it so sorry in advance :p
Ross Miner asking about yuzu after earthquake in 2011, so thoughtfull

:drama: After what happened last time I won't be catching the live stream...lol

Good luck yuzu :cheer:

Thank you so much for the updates everyone

im very worried for him. Ive read that he still has some pain on both legs? he seems to be pushing himself too much, feeling he needs to prove something to everybody. i hope someone could tell him that skating injured wont help his cause.
BUT he seems to be doing well and was checked by a doctor after yesterday's practice so all i can do now is to respect his decision and pray for his health.

Looking at this clip, he changed both of the 4t and 3a entry so im guessing he's going to change his sp layout. Kinda sad that the spread eagle-3a- spread eagle is gone since it goes so well with music where it was executed before but if its gonna help him then its fine.

Wow, glad that there are some videos for this mysterious practice session. I think that smile is more of a embarrassed smile since he ducked and obviously everyone is thinking about whether or not he'll have residual fear from now on. I think he looked over to where Orser is standing ;)

Even more jealous of those of you going to NHK now! Not only because of Hanyu-san, but because the Japanese audience is so appreciative and this being the last GP there's bound to be that extra motivation for the skaters to push themselves. I know many of you are going so have lots of fun!

I am glad Hanyu-san had said that he excel under pressure and I hope that's true. (can't understand since I crumble under it) He is the only one with this much media attention, even out of the other Japanese athletes competing, I don't think we've heard about them yet(at least not on the news clips that Japanese figure skating fans usually upload when there are new clips).

From Yh facebook post...translation

JSF decided to prepare 2 guards for Yuzuru.
The guards defend only Yuzuru during NHK Trophy thoroughly
They are professional and one of them is a player of kickboxing for over 20 years.
They ride a official bus together to be cautious of his surroundings.
Ito-san explained “We are careful to avoiding any dangerous situation with his condition like this.”

Article: http://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=http:...GVWLR-7Ytj-tuWB7p4OPwOamiyqAYV4ZZG2gCVpr9&s=1

If this is all legitimate, im happy to hear they are taking his security seriously. The media and enormous amount of fans makes it difficult for him to even have any privacy or quiet time to himself. Videos of him trying to hide from cameras on the bus are sad....fans want more and more videos...but i think Yuzu needs his space too.

There is an article in Japanese that quoted Orser as saying he will indeed put the quad back in the beginning of the SP. Don't know how reliable that is though since there are so many conflicting reports out there still.

Mixed feelings about the guards. Happy that he will be safe; but probably a little strange and awkward for him as well. Guess we won't see his mom trailing behind him anymore...

 Wow, I have mixed feelings about the guards as well. I hope they're only there for NHK because otherwise he might feel a bit suffocated with them around all the time and not to mention the awkwardness... But I'm happy that they're taking precautions and making his health their priority...finally. Going back to what was said in this forum, with this news, it does feel like JSF is treating Yuzu more like a star (money maker) rather than an athlete. I wonder how he feels about it since its obvious he's getting a little uncomfortable with all the extra attention
