Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I still find it funny that Yuzu was the main topic of NHK mens. Despite having 2 other Japanese men (1st and 3rd) place, he was in the papers and news more. He truly is the Japanese mens ace right now despite the results. But then again, media can also be a very distracting thing. :think:

:rofl: What, you're going to ask him out for a drink? The poor guy could probably use one right about now. :laugh:

All kidding aside, I believe we are watching this boy grow up before our eyes as he faces some pretty big challenges. What doesn't kill him will make him stronger as the saying goes...in the end the lessons learned here will be invaluable as he goes forward in the next few years and attempts to defend his Olympic title.

I will be happy when he gets on that plane and heads back to Canada. What he needs more than anything right now is to get back to a normal training routine with Orser. I believe Brian helps him prepare mentally and perhaps that is what was missing in the last week or so when he returned to training on his own. He and Javi can pal around, joke and laugh as they do as he moves forward in his preparation for the GPF. Hopefully in Spain we'll see a more relaxed and less stressed out Yuzu where all eyes will be on Javi for a change.

Gala just starting....and he has ANOTHER new costume!! :cheer: Not the same white one we saw with this number.
 
I was happy to see him sing along at the end. He seemed pretty relieved too which pleases me too

Such an exquisite performance. But what I think warmed my heart the most was how the audience gave him a thundering ovation, and the look on his face when he mouthed his thanks. There was an apology in there, but there also seemed to be relief. Going forward, I hope he returns to Canada soon to have the benefit of BOrser's guidance, privacy, and the companionship of his friends. Hopefully since the GPF is in Barcelona, the spotlight won't be on him too much and he can at least shake off a bit of the pressure. ❤️ Good luck, Yuzuru, and rest well!

ITA on skating skills. I don't exactly understand the whole PCS category at all, but even I can tell his edges were amazing just now!

'Owatta.' All the best to him in the next 2 weeks! (Asia-->NorthAmerica-->Europe, that's quite the travel plan :p)

No problem for Yuzu to have crazy travel plans as he must be able to get staff price to fly Air Canada (Star Alliance). :dance:
 
hhmm can't they travel straight to Spain, but I guess the expenses (hotel, ice rinks) etc. would be expensive to stay there for 2 weeks.
