Eventhough I know that she'll kick herself for the flip, in my opinon her last spin was unjustly downgraded and it's frustrating to skate a more difficult program than before so well and still be scored lower than before -

This was the Yulia we know and love!:clap:
Her fire was back! She went for everything with the same determination and attack I remember from her and that, in my opinion, made her stand out last season.

To me, after Sochi, she looked lost and injured, not physically, but her spirit seemed to have suffered after all of this.
After COC and TEB people were asking "What happened to her" etc and I would have loved to say "a 15 year old went through a life changing experience that not only brought fame and glory or money (things Yulia doesn't seem to strive for anyway) but also pressure, exposure and a huge disappointment for her in the individual."
She needed time to recover and no matter how she skates tomorrow, yesterday she looked back and in terms of emotions and self reflection even stronger than before:yes:

It seemed strange that she still got such good GOE. I also thought this year when requirements aren't met we'd see a V1 or V2 like this CCoSp2p4v1.

I love doing research for the thing I'd like to understand better. But spin levels are getting my nerves.
I decide that I will not watch Yulia tomorrow. It seems I jinxed all my favorite today. Maybe without me watching she migt do much much better.

Look, you or anybody else don't jinx skaters. No worries about that. ;)
Nothing will change whether you see them or not. So you better just watch it as a gala. :)

I would like a slow-mo for that spin. Someone on FSU said :
Her free knee is distinctly below hip level when she completes the 3-turn and first starts the spin, and I think she falls just short of 2 full revolutions in the definition of a camel position (which was her only camel position in the spin). I agree with the "2p" call.

Frankly I don't see that, and it's sounds a bit stupid for her to do that mistake.
 
She did end her spin early and added that little turn on her way back to her kite so either something was off or she changed up her choreo.

Whatever...let the judges pick on her. It will only make her better.

Actually it might be better for my health. Top much heart attack in one day. I still think I jinxed I/Z :cry:
But Yulia did very very well. I don't get the judges. And that spin level. :hopelessness:

The rotation with an arm over the head is her preferred device for filling-in where music and movement don't match. Megapolis music ends with the kite theme played twice, then an upward broken scale followed by a downward broken scale. Each of her final two spins coincide with one full statement of the kite theme. Listen to the first statement of the theme as you watch her first spin, and notice how she leaves her spin at exactly the end of the kite theme, she perfectly defines the theme with the spin. Then, as the theme plays a second and final time, she does the second spin. She extends this spin into the upward scales. She is supposed to continue the rapid rotations of the spin through the entire set of upward scales. The plan is to break out of the spin at exactly where the scales reverse, cascading downward away from the kite theme. This spin is supposed to define the kite theme and the upward scales together (the fast spin represents the rapid upward scales). If you watch with this in mind, you will see that yesterday she broke out of the rapid spin before the upward scales were complete. This made the run to the kite longer than it should have been, so she threw in her stand-by filler to make the movement and music end together. It was not a mistake because the movement is well-defined by the music, she couldn't miss it. There is no change in choreography becauses of the musical correspondence, which was intact up to the middle of the upward scales. For some reason she was unable to sustain the fast spins with vertical leg so she bailed out early. These improvisations help us distinguish movements that are Yulia's, from movements of choreographers.

She iinserted the same movement last year into SL at European championships where she replaced a three jump set with a single jump, near the end of the first section.

Actually it's Asian people in particular. I don't know why but here in Asian people just like that V-Sign.
