Yulia Lipnitskaya

Don't worry too much, Yulia. Skating is not only about jumps. Everything else was wonderful, the movements, the piruets and the new dress is amazing. And it was a great leap forward artistically. The better days are coming soon, so don't worry too much and good luck in Russian champs, at least top 3 is enough and it's within reach.
The point is will this affect her confidence? I don't know what is Eteri doing for Yulia this season, but it's not enough.
I hope she will do much better at Nationals.

I missed everything. :disapp: I lost pairs, womens. I thought they were tonight.

Despite all the mistakes, there is one major positive I take from the performance: Yulia never looked deflated. She fought for everything, despite her condition clearly not being right. She never forgot it was a performance, and did not let the jump errors wipe the determination from her eyes.

In this sense, I do not feel it was Cup of China redux.

I am crying for Yulia. Come back strong at Nats. Pretty Please?

My stream kept cutting out so all I saw was the fabulous 3-3, the 3L, and the final section from the ChSq to the final two spins. So the program was amazing for me and it was only when I looked at the box that I realized a disaster had happened.

And does anyone else think she should have been doing two triple lutzes, I thought the only reason they were doing 2 F was because of the boot problems. Now that she's getting credit for the lutz she should have done 2 of them. Maybe at Nats?

I just think Yulia and Eteri need to calm down and not to put such stress on themselves. Let's face it she's already in the history books with her LS programme, let the girl from the hook of big expectations this and may be next year and just work. Julia has a gift from the heaven to touch people's hearts, the gold medal she wants so much will come sooner or later. NObody will remember this competition and its winner in the future, lol!

Sandpiper you nailed it IMO. She has turned into this soft and delicate skater with sweeping emotions. She doesn't put herself on display but rather she puts the emotion of R&J on display. I think this is artistically superior to anything she has ever done. The scores reflect her errors in jumps but my heart still felt the vibrancy of what she was doing.

I'm with Isabel.....two lutz jumps going forward.

I'm talking about Mulan for next year. For the first time she could plan well in advance a program that she wants. (Not sure I understand your comment)

Sorry sidj, Caustica said she think Yulia is changing the music.
I thought you were speaking about this year. Since the worlds are in China.

At least you won't be fined

 ;)

I agree with this completely.

Also, and I realise this is afterwards but still I want to say it, she should've not partecipated in the GP. She said she didn't want to but others (FED, coach?) told her she needed for the ranking.
Vaffa the ranking. Competing is good, even when you don't do well, but at least you are prepared in time. This has all started with the wrong foot.

I hope the same. And I don't know much about Eteri but I put my trust on her. And maybe she could have lost a bit of confidence tonight but from what I've seen she's gaining a lot of artism definitely, and that's the good thing!!!

I'll never understand this tbh: a 3Lo+1Lo+3S< with negative GoEs lose 1 point only, while a fantastic flip with a wrong edge lose 4. Completely ridiculous.

I didn't know this. When did she say this, recently? I read that she wanted to qualify for the GPF. It is very significant if she recently (sometime later than saying she wanted to qualify) made this statement. Or do you mean that she didn't want to participate in any Grand Prix events? They absolutely need to listen to her. The comments she made about unprecedented nervousness two days ago were an alarm. Alba, you predicted that she would have trouble holding up to the FS. This is no surprise. When stress reaches this level it can perpetuate itself in a vicious circle of failures. All this started on the wrong foot is a way of saying it. I don't see how she could succeed given all the realities stacked against her. If she can begin much earlier next year we will see a very different Yulia. If she knows it will be Mulan, it can ruminate in her mind during the summer.

IIRC she said that in an interview after CoC. Last season was too much this season they were late. It seems the fed only want her to compete so they can compare which girl among their best.
I hope she will be better at Nationals. Adelina never won any GP but she did well in nationals and that held her up.

This is cruelty. Essentially, she was not given a choice. She knows her physical and mental state, she should be the one to make these decisions. Soo they have pushed her into potentially humiliating situations against her will. This is wrong. Is this the same gang that hung up in her ear? They should be very proud of themselves.

She said it after CoC. I'll try to find the interview.
She said that yes, she was thinking to take a break. Not the whole season, I think she meant the GP's, but she said "I was told I needed for the ranking".

Actually I thought she will do better than TEB, but after she said she didn't feel her feet in the middle of the short I was worried, because that was her problem in CoR and a bit at TEB. Although she was much better in Bordeaux. So I thought with more time and better skating in france she had gained confidence.

To me this is a confidence issue. She cannot let it go, she has to learn to go softer on herself after a bad skate. But above all Eteri should do something, and better here.

Mah because Russian fed don't lack of talented ladies. So sad. They want results and more exposure for their skaters.

She didn't feel her feet? Couldn't they have gone back to the layout that she executed well in TEB instead of going with jumps she had only practiced for 3 days (that's what I read someplace)? This sounds like a fiction of chaos. Whatever happened to the 4 year plan? She will definitely have something to tell the grandkids.
