2014-2015 GPF Ladies Free Skate 12/13

Woah, no edge calls for Ashley and only one underotation call on her 3S, amazing, she really killed it today

Full credit for the 3F-3T for Ashley! She deserved it - that looked solid and with good speed and interesting entry. The 3S in the combo got and underrotate call, it did look a bit short and two-footed - but first doing that combo in competition, so not bad, if she can get that one clean as well, she could really be in the mix for a medal at Worlds!

Goodness, just woke up in time to catch the medal ceremony. Time to see what happened here!

Congratulations to Liza, so so happy for her! :cheer:

So to the ones asking why Ashley's PCS is so low, her transitions / linking footwork is lagging far behind everything else

This ladies free was about as unpredictable as the men typically are!!!

Huge congratulations to Miss Wagner on her third consecutive GPF medal. She had a lot of help, but she did her part! I don't recall her ever entering the conversation for stopping a Russian sweep.

Ashely actually left some points of the table even as great as that skate was - level 2 spin, level 3 spin. So she can definitely break 130 with a perfect all level 4 spins/level 3 step skate. :)

The unsinkable Ashley does it again!!!! Well done!

Poor Julia. She is in a big trouble this year. Will she make the Worlds team?

I agree! Everyone was speculating whether she wouldn't end up last.

Btw, regarding this whole "plays the medallist's music as they step onto the podium" thing... What if someone had some really sad music? Especially now lyrics are allowed--what if the song is about someone dying?

(I'm overthinking this...)
No you're not. I already had a vision of Yulia being in a commanding 1st place in the SP at Worlds, then having an earth-shattering fall at the very opening of her FS. Then Anna Pogorilaya (yes the two of them somehow make it on the Russian Worlds team) sneaks ahead of her. And at the victory ceremony, Yulia steps up to the podium as her tragic, sombre R&J plays, thinking "my fancy upgraded Moscow apartment that I could've earned... My 3-3...."

Then Pogo steps up in triumph and accepts her gold medal as that one part of Firebird plays. The end.

Definitely not, is what I would guess. Sotnikova, Tuktamysheva, Radionova are too strong.
