Re watching Pogo's K&C, I agree with yesterday's posters that claimed that her coach is "mean". She's just sitting there, stone-faced while her pupil cries her heart out next to her

And Yulia... Well, I sincerely hope it doesn't shake her self-conficence any more than it is already shaken. She's got two weeks until RN. I have a doubt, however, about her boots: When she announced she was changing them, I think she mentioned about getting stiffer ones. If my memory isn't failing me, what made her go to Edeas? If it doesn't trouble 10 year olds landing doubles, I doubt it is stiffer than Risports... The only thing I can think that made her go for Edeas is the short break-in time, as it appears she was running out of time.

I feel like the battle in Russian Nationals will be for bronze instead of gold - Tuk and Lena have proven her consistency, while Yulia and Anna have proven that they can either have a great performance or a no-podium one. Perhaps they will indeed split the teams and send one to Europeans and one to Worlds, but Russian Federation is probably wondering which one of the two can bomb less, in case something goes wrong :scratch:

To my mind Ashley cemented her position as US#1 over Gracie today.

I don't agree, but she certainly showed that she isn't dead yet.

I'm not sure I could say the same. Ashley is nearing the end of her career, while Gracie is still the future of U.S. skating (to most people, anyway). Hard to knock Gracie for being out on injury, but many "what if's" for sure, and a surprise come back for Ashley.

I wouldn't say she is nearing the end of her career at at. On the other hand it's debatable that she is US #1 imo. She skate great and improved technically from TEB but I wonder what would have been if Pogo and Lipnitskaya were clean. Worlds will be interesting for sure.

I think Anna needs acoaching change. she's brimming with talent, but she needs better styling (hair, costumes, makeup), better programms, and a nicer coach. her mental breakdown is a warning sign- something is not right.

How do you figure that since Ashley hasn't beaten Gracie since the end of the 2013 season. Gracie with a less then clean FS at NHK still would have won Bronze here.

I feel sorry for Rika for skating just after Ashley.
After watching 'that Ashley', all other girls looked so immature, except Liza.
Rika should be proud of herself for delivering two (almost) clean programs.

I also feel sorry for Anna & Julia in different way.
Are they sick or injured? I hope not.

As many of you mentioned, I love audience in Barcelona. I really want to join them. It must be great fun

Honestly, why not if Pogo and Lip can't pull themselves together and Sot is not fit to compete? I admit this is a lot of 'if's' but it's not like Leonova is terrible. On a good day she could definitely place top 10 at Worlds. It is definitely imaginable that if she'd been in the GPF she'd have beaten (or at least certainly COULD HAVE beaten) both Lip and Pogo today.

So happy for Radionova for bouncing back from the SP.

SOOOO happy for Wagner for nailing her 3-3 and sticking it to all the haters who said she wouldn't make the GPF let alone medal ever again.
