2014-2015 GPF Mens Free Skate 12/13

Nationals will be very interesting. I'm now less sure that Mura/Machida will finish ahead of Kozuka....

Ok, so good for Hanyu. He has a wonderful technical display of jumps. But I really don't think the overall program including spins, transitions and artistry is that outstanding. He seems like a very likeable guy but I just don't see the complete package. I think Javier displayed more of the completeness and polish that I want in a champion.

Agree with the first part--I love Yuzu but it's not the most outstanding program out there, but he certainly wows with his jumps and technical content.

Javier being more 'complete' though, like I said earlier in this thread, unpopular opinion but his skating does nothing for me.

(But maybe this is just me missing people who aren't competing this season/have already retired. haha.)

If hanyu had landed that 3 lutz without any positive goe he would have scored 198 and something :eyes:

He got 2.52 on that 3Lz, if he lands it perfectly he'd get another 5 points, if he was clean his PCS might be higher too and he could pass 200

Huge cheers for Javi from the crowd. I'm happy he's on the podium, with no falls in the LP. This will be good for skating in Spain.

Unbelievably the pattern holds true again this year for Hanyu and Machida.
Hanyu peaks at GPF after a bad start, Machida bombs at GPF after a strong start to the season. hmm...is it just coincidence?

None of the Japanese men have been really consistent. Mura has underpeformed after such a strong start at Skate Canada.

Hanyu does look to be the up and up after struggling at the beginning of the season.

Shoma Uno is old enough to compete at Worlds, so we might see some interesting results for the world team come Japanese nationals.

Heck Murakami might come surprise too.....

And oh yeah, Kozuka.....

They will still finish ahead of Taka (unfortunately, the legend of poor taka continues) because I think Tatsu really just had A Bad Day Today.

I think the biggest threat to Yuzu and Tatsuki would be Shoma Uno. I wouldn't be surprised if Shoma makes it to Worlds Team, if he shows up at Nats with the same results as he did in JGPF yesterday.

Well this was an awesome competition!! Yuzuru really amazed me wow :cheer2: I loved Voronov too!. And yay for Javi for doing such a great program after his short. But I'm also vey sad for Machida I almost cried. Well that's it. Lovely competition !

The men's medal ceremony was great! Obviously these three guys really like and respect each other. They were all so happy to be there!

I'm less certain of Mura though. Unfortunate, since he had such a strong showing at SC. However, he's as inconsistent as Kozuka(I shall try not to think about him now; he makes me sad.).

Also, looking forward to head-to-head matchup between Kovtun and Voronov at Russian nationals. Their scores are really not far apart at this point.

Menshov might be the odd man out this year. :( (though he looks good for a Euros spot!)
