But how will Eteri and Yulia know the new program "has no problems"? Even if it works in practice, that doesn't mean it's going to hit off in competition (See the interview with Adelina's coach I referenced before--perfect practices and kept falling apart in competition). And, even if they did know it had no problems... how will they convince the Russian Federation of that?
This isn't like either of the Kovtun situations. Anna, Adelina, and even Alena are more competitive internationally than Kovtun or Menshov were at the time. The Russian Fed has fewer choices in the men's field.
I think my english has become terribly bad, because since last night I'm trying to say another thing and apparently I'm not successful. :hopelessness:
I din't said they should change the program, so they could increase her chances to partecipate at Worlds. On the contrary. I said it was a risk, that maybe Eteri was willing to take, and that there is nothing wrong with her LP. It is beautiful, IMO.
This was all to explain why it was
possible for her to go at Worlds, despite not partecipating at Nationals - because in that case she had to work on a new program - and how the whole system of Russian team works.
Meoima didn't know this, for example, and he asked last night.
Furthermore, sjid was asking how this new program was supposed to be ready in 2 weeks, for russian nationals. So, I was explaining that indeed it was not possible for Nationals, and neither Europeans, but it was possible for Worlds.
Yulia needs one good (not totally clean, but solid) skate under her belt. If not at Nationals, then at least some Senior B before Europeans. I don't see them sending her if she doesn't compete at all until Worlds.
I said the same thing, and I'm not that sure she will be sent there even if she has good Senior B competitions.
I'll certainly be patient after all she has given.
Amen to that.
