Just a little update on the situation. It's an article released by Press office of the FISG (Italian Ice Sports Federation) with soem quotes byt he Presdent Andrea Gios in support of Carolina. Here's the translation (the article can be found in Italian on the FISG site, unfortunately it doesn't let me post it). Please keep in mind that there were a lot of technical terms that I am not familiar with and that I barely understand in Italian which is my mothertongue

. Still I hope the sense of the article is clear
Near Carolina and for Carolina!
“As president of the Italian Ice Sports Federation (Fisg) I appointed the attorney Guido Martinelli and the attorney Ernesto Russo to go in front of the Second Section of the National Antidopig Court of CONI in order to defend Carolina Kostner and the interests of the Italian Ice Sports Federation. I did it because I am completely sure of our champion innocence and good faith and that she knew nothing about Mr. Alex Schwazer doping problem.”
Few words, precise and touching, those of the President of FISG, Andrea Gios, in defence of Carolina Kostner, for an unfortunate incident, to protect an athlete, whose image has always been an emblem of lealty and good faith, and for a champion who gives prestige to the Italian sport altogether.
In a lot of years of carrer spent at the top levels, Kostner never, ever, was brushed by the shade of doping or the use of forbidden substances. An association which has no reason to be and that must be demolished.
In spite of the institutional respect due to the WADA, the measure against Carolina, is based on simple assumptions, with no legal basis, and appear completely devoid of juridic foundation. Under this profile are missing the requisites of gravity, precision and coincidence that turn, in a logic-deductive way, an unknown fact into a known fact.
President Gios reiterates that Carolina didn’t assist nor was a party in the violation of the Antidoping Sport Laws made by her then-boyfriend Alex Schwazer. A fact that is proven by the declarations made by Schwazer himself, who stated that Carolina didn’t know anything about his use of forbidden substances.
It is, furthermore, necessary to underline that our athlete didn’t impede the antidoping control, but favoured it, by forcing Schwazer to go back to his house in Racines, where he had given his availability, and be tested. Which is what happened: Schwazer immediately left Carolina house and that same night underwent the antidoping test, that turned out to be positive.
“As President and first of all as a man – goes on Andrea Gios – I am completely certain of the goodness of intention and faith of Carolina. From the Federation part and mine, she will have complete support. I am confident that this sad incident can and will be solved in a positive way for the athlete, the woman, her family and the Italian sport. I want to end by adding that never the FISG would step in a case where on of its athlete had been accused of doping himself. But this is not the case for Carolina, on whose moral rectitude and sportive honesty I have complete faith.”
