Daisuke Takahashi

I've read from the other forum that Dai's type is more like beautiful lady with red lipstick.

He listed out his ideal type in the interview:
- bright and optimistic
- an older sister personality (he likes to be taken care of lol)
- person with unique facial features
- someone who looks good with red lipstick
- someone with straight bangs

So specific, like I can see her before my eyes already.

He talked about the recent dating rumor of his and clarified that it was all a misunderstanding. He is currently single. The woman who was pictured in the article with him was just a staff member for XOI. He was also asked about his relationship with Mao and he said that Mao also has the freedom to choose whoever she wants to date. He brought up that they were once told by a fortune teller (might have been the palm reading done post-Vancouver) that their personalities clash. He did say that while he didn't have any romantic feelings for Mao during XOI practice, he thinks she's really cute and mentions how grown up she is now from his POV. When asked about romance/marriage, he answered that he won't be thinking about it for the next 3-4 years because he needs to focus on himself first.

Thank you so much! Wow so they pretty much just asked him about his personal life, huh? I like what he said about Mao, I think they're really good friends and I love that

Well this describes me exactly except for the straight bangs mine are curly.

You're welcome! Actually, at the event, he was only supposed to talk about work. Reporters were warned beforehand. But he surprised them by bringing up the subject himself and clarifying it. A reporter actually wrote an article afterwards about this and sort of praised Dai for being so patient and never showed any annoyance at answering questions regarding the rumor and romance. As expected from Dai.

Dai also mentioned that Mao is a comrade--the same answer he gave in October when asked during his retirement press con. They definitely get along very well and we'll see what happens in the future. ;)

Question, I seem to remember reading that Daisuke will travel outside Japan for a year, is this true or am I imagine things?

Not sure what trovador means in this case but as soon as he's done with Art On Ice in February he'll be
free to start doing whatever he wants.

Trovador or troubador

1. One of a class of 12th-century and 13th-century lyric poets in southern France, northern Italy, and northern Spain, who composed songs in langue d'oc often about courtly love.
2. A strolling minstrel.

I read somewhere that Dai wants to study English and Dance in New York for 1 year.

So I shouldn't be surprised if I run into him one day while I'm there? I should increase my trips to the Big Apple more often then, haha. In all seriousness though, I think New York would make sense since he did train in nearby New Jersey so he must be familiar with the vibe and pace. LA is a better choice if he wants a warmer climate, which I always thought he preferred. Also closer to Japan if he ever needs to fly home for any reason.
