Looks like my theory on the type of injury was proven correct.
So I have a question, if last year he found a pair of skates that worked, why didn´t he used the same type and brand this year since the start of the season?
I can see arguments for the Olympics being higher or lower really. I just seem to get the impression there are more skaters at worlds usually.
It is interesting to look at case studies like this in terms of how skaters have to think about when to compete and when to take time off.
A video from official practices for the men's singles. When Kevin practiced his FP. His jumps look better to me. I don't know. I'm not an expert.

First quad attempt - tripled
2nd quad - two footed
overall so-so, not bad, not great, good combinations, we will see
Why did I over estimate here? poor KevinThis season is a bad dream...
I haven't been following Canadian Nationals - and hearing what happened to Kevin, 12th after a devastating SP, I'm honestly glad I wasn't. I feel so for him! Any idea what happened to cause this? And what the prospects for the LP are?
And I feel for you too, cheerknithanson, I know what it feels like when a skater you love is going through a really rough patch. I know it's hard, but keep your courage and heart up!
Kevin withdraw from LP.
Is best that he focus in the next season, maybe a change of coach will help.
MORE than just a bad dream. A living nightmare with the devil.
I still feel numb and I'm going to have to fake my butt off today being cheerful at a doubleheader basketball game today.
I really really really really really hope he does NOT quit or retire.
It tears me apart to know how devastated he is.
I had this bad feeling for a while about the SP yesterday. Turns out I was right. Just like how I was right on what his injury was and what caused it. I feel like I just know what's going to happen.
Yesterday and today I felt and still feel like that I took some drug that made me live in a nightmare that I can't get out of. Not even hearing the results of the men's event from US Nats could pull me out of it.
I wish there was something I could do.

I'm very sad that he withdrew, but it was painful to watch him yesterday, and I can't imagine how much more painful it was for him. Still he went out of his way to thank everyone that supported him in the kiss&cry, where many other skaters would have only been thinking about themselves. Kevin is a strong person who could have given up a long time ago, but he didn't. Good luck to him whatever he does.
I hope he doesn't give up. He has so much more to share to the world. Anyone who talk trash about him I want to snap at them. He doesn't need that trash talk. If he gets more training, he WILL make a comeback!
