The only score I have problems with is Javi's. I mean, he had two step-out/hands-down, and the judges gave him 46+ for TES? Really? He also had a lot of standing-still in the programs. Basically he just need to shake his booty and the judges gave high PCS like crazy. This is what figure skating comes to?

Yes. I'd add nice to see Liebers back in the mix, a good performance from Bychenko and Amodio showing some real maturity were pretty much the highlights for me.
And Dishwashing Rockin' Pony of course.
I think Javier needs a responsive audience to bring out the sparkle for Black Betty. His opening pose tells a good deal I think. When he's beaming, you know it will be a great performance. Otherwise...it's a nail biter. LOL

Torun Cup is the Nestle Cup!
They are the same ONE competition held in Poland.Edit:Hm.. err, did I misquote or was the post deleted? I saw someone confused with Torun and Nestle Cup which are the same one just called differently.

Yes. Javi - 2 stepouts. Voronov - 2A. Michal - fall on 3F and no combo. Kovtun - 2 hands down (on quads) and no combo. Liebers - no quad (not planned, so not a mistake), hand down. Amodio - 3S.

Bad juju day for the men in Sweden. And one major major meltdown by Chafik. Mostly a lot of "not quite there(s)" and "oops" and the like. Here's hoping they get it together for the FS.

Quite sure, because of the 2nd German pair. Before Torun they weren't eligible. I've got to go, now. But I will later look it up. It was in the German-Jodel thread on FSU: German skating news part 2, p. 19 ("but since competition in Bratislava was cancelled ISU decided (in favor of the skaters) Torun Cup counting towards EC TES mins and was informing all the federations")

Chafik's coach looks scary... :shocked: It's a shame he imploded like that; this is the first time I've really seen this programme and I can see it being really good when he's into it + the jumps are there. It's a pretty cool programme
This is the 2nd season he uses this same programme. I also like the music and little details (breakdance moves), but his overall skating skills, finish and posture are not good.
He was lucky to qualify for the Free Skate with a fallen 4T<<, fallen 3A<<, and 2Lz*.
The 25th had a clean programme with 3F2Lo, 3Lz and 2A and won't make it to the Free Skate - despite the win in the Jason Brown lookalike competition.

Terrific quad. Real performance ability. He just needs to work on his spins and control, but both will come in time. Definitely One To Keep An Eye On.
